My neighbor came and parked his RV on the lawn but it also takes up our lawn so as a peace offering he brought me a watermelon. I found it hilarious. Fried chicken would have been a + but I didn't want to sound greedy.

A salesman came to our door too and I answered and he said I must be the "icing in the oreo" neighborhood HA.

Yeah, it's not really watermelon season. I suppose he had one just around the house?

Actually, I remember now they had a watermelon plant so that must have been where it came from. Not sure if it is still good. We haven't eaten it yet.

I lived a sheltered life in Cary for most of my years so all this is new to me.

Apparently all animals can roam free and no matter what time it is day or night someone is always walking or riding there bike to the gas station to get 40's.

Holly Springs, right near the intersection of Sunset Lake Road and Holly Springs Road. About 1 minute from Cary outskirts.

Eventually the ghetto will be gone because they are buying up the land and building shopping centers so these people that have lived here for probably all their lives will make some $$$ of their property.

hmmm. i lived in the ghetto once. once the friendly neigborhood dealer Tyrone got killed in his front yard across the street from us over a drug dispute, i realized it was time to leave.

of course, we were the rednecks with pellet guns stalking all around the empty warehouse lots around the area with pellet guns killing squirrels for stew. No telling what the neighbors thought about these crazy honkeys

The people across the street got busted by the DEA for making meth. My dad and I watched from the window while eating pancakes. SWAT team came and everything.

The people walking I wave to if I'm outside. They wave back but they probably think I'm strange.

Only thing that really sucks is that I was sexually assaulted by my neighbor. The son of the dad that brought me the watermelon. But I call the po-po and he hasn't bothered me since. I think he might be in jail for something else.

At least the ghetto in Holly Springs is relatively small. At least you're not in a major metropolitan area! Spend a night in the Opa-Locka neighborhood in Miami and report back. No. Jk.

But you should invest in good door locks. And a gun. Or flamethrower. Whatev.

We need to move. There are roaches everywhere in this house

I may be able to entertain during that time, but you know I need to be in the crazy RachelMarie entertaining mode. This is typically when I am very bored. No promises though.

I must get off for a bit because my neck is hurting from this computer chair. May be back to entertain later.

Everyone feel free to share your "living in the ghetto" experiences.

I lived in the ghetto off of South Saunders when I was in college, and I felt safer there than I did in Gorman Crossings. Our neighbors thought we were crazy white kids with guns, so they never messed with us. It was nice not having to worry about RPD fucking with us when we were drinking in the front yard, because cops were scared to drive down our street. The only couple of times I ever saw cops come down our street, they rolled up with swat teams and a paddywagon.

I wouldn't want to live in the ghetto and be a female.

Now that I think about it, I just don't want to be a female. Way too much attention.

^^ I loved that neighborhood. My colleague lived there for years with her Crackhead roommate. I think those places are less likely to get robbed, as folks just assume you're dirt poor.

there are plenty of places that cops stay the fuck away from unless they are told to go there. Brent Road and Kaplan are not one of those places.

I've heard plenty of gunshots in Raleigh, but that was the only neighborhood I've ever heard automatic gunfire in.

Eleusis is dramatic at times, but not a liar. Maybe a know-it-all, but he's smarter than most folks. Maybe smarter than his own good. He's kind of awesome.

And yeah, I think he just reiterated my statement. "Ghetto" is a term that's thrown out too generously.

Sunset Lake Rd. at Holly Springs Rd. is not even remotely ghetto. You've got a freakin' Rudinos on the corner. The only slightly rough place on Sunset Lake is between Main St. and 55 Bypass and even that area isn't that bad.

Yeah, I used to chill on Pecan St. all the time. Shit was fun. Walked outside one night and there's a bum on the porch drinking, so one of the actual tenants of the house threatens to shoot him with a crossbow if he doesn't leave. Would have been pretty funny if there hadn't been a crossbow sitting on the coffee table 5' from the front door, but that made it kind of

I wish I had lived on Pecan St, because the walk to El Cerro would have been a lot faster. I lived on Gilbert Avenue, so at least the army surplus store was a quick walk away.

I'm not trolling.

I reiterate: Raleigh cops were not scared to drive down Gilbert Ave. The lack of police presence was because it wasn't as bad as you claim.

That is not the fucking ghetto, it's like what, 3 fucking houses, a BP, and a get your hair did place? You're 100 yds from a damn Harris Teeter and a Rudinos for fucks sake.
