Don't know about this particular movie, but I might be willing to pay $9.50 to see Buzz Aldrin punch Michael Bay.

That aside... I could see that trailer possibly working for the first Transformers movie, but by now you'd think that the Transformers were there in the past angle has been sufficiently covered. Like it's no longer interesting to learn that Transformers were there in the past because we already knew that they were.

Transformers 4 - The Great Wall of China was built to keep Transformers out.
Transformers 5 - Transformers built the Great Pyramids.
Transformers 6 - Megatron tricked Eve into biting the apple.

The clock is running out for one opportunity. They could have said the Mayan calendar was really created by Transformers and 2012 would be some sort of zany Transformers event. Like their 6000th year high school reunion. All the Transformers would show up and lie about how awesome their jobs were, rent expensive spaceships to convince everyone they were rich, get drunk, and get in a fight that lead to the end of the world.

All kidding aside I thought part 2 was better than part 1, so maybe this one will be decent. Of course there is the curse of the part 3:

Spider-Man 3
X-Men 3
Batman Forever
Matrix Revolutions
Back to the Future 3 (there I said it... well at least when compared to the first 2)
Halloween 3

Don't forget Blade 3, which was just god awful compared to the other two. I actually thought both transformers movies were pretty sub-par, but they each had their moments, hopefully this one brings it all together. Oh, and all three spiderman movies blow ass

^^^^ Largely because the battles in part 1 would have been easier to follow if they just put up a big cloud and had an occasional fist or bone fly out - just like the cartoons. They looked like giant, incomprehensible, metal garbage pile vs. giant, incomprehensible, metal garbage pile.

Part 1 was a huge letdown, and it was sad they even attached the Transformers brand to it. I had lowered expectations for part 2 and the whole movie felt like a self-parody.

Also, I only saw part 1 and part 2 once, so that's based off memory. Part 2 seemed a bit better if for no other reason that the robots being a bit more varied and a bit more distinguishable. Neither was good enough to make me want to buy the DVD or even watch it twice.

All I remember about the first one:
Soundwave isn't a radio because you can't have a large robot shrink down like that. Power cubes on the other hand...
Protect the humans! We're in a deserted canyon and we need to defend the power cube against a Decepticon attack. I know, let's go to a populated city and produce loads of collateral damage when the Decepticons attack - you know - to protect the humans.

All I remember about the second one:
Aforementioned Devestator's got nards.
The ghetto-bots.

\/ To each their own. It would have helped immensity if they just had a bit more variety and contrast in colors or something. That way you could tell at a glance who was who or at least where one robot stopped and the other began.

it baffles me that people have a hard time following the fight scenes in these movies. its not difficult at all to tell what is going on. That has to be the worst complaint about these films.

They were at Kennedy Space Center earlier this year shooting this stuff. I was that I wasn't there at the same time but some of my friends got a bunch of pictures of the Optimus Prime truck and stuff.

I actually liked part I for what it was...a loud, thoughtless action movie involving something I loved as a kid (qualifier: I wasn't completely obsessed with them, so I'm not in the same boat as people who felt betrayed by what happened).

I had big expectations for the second movie, but was largely disappointed...it wasn't even something I've considered buying on DVD/blu ray. All the stuff at college was fucking retarded, and the end battle just wasn't all that great.

Hopefully this one will level out to the nominal amount of suck that I can put up with.

2 was a bit of a letdown, but I was somewhat satisfied with the increase in Transformer presence. The battle in the field where Prime took on Megatron, Starscream and Blackout (I think) all on his own was pretty badass. Suped up Optimus with Jetfire parts was pretty cool too.

Still don't quite get why Devastator was a dog. The story was indeed stupid, but the nerd in me still enjoyed it to a small degree. I think what I really took away from these movies is that Michael Bay blows, and fucked up what could have been incredible.

I liked 1 and 2, thought 2 too was funnier--the mom was priceless high. 3 I'm not so sure about, not sold on this trailer. I also don't like cast changes--no Megan Fox in this movie.

The core of the movies aren't bad...its just the extra fluff like the robots trying to hide outside Sam's house, the mother high on pot brownies, the ebonics robots, the robots humping legs, etc, aka Michael Bays attempts to inject slap stick humor into the films that really drag them down.

In the hands of a Nolan, Singer, Jackson, they could have been classics. Even a Scott or McG could have been them more palatable then the critical laughingstocks they've sadly become.

interesting trailer but it felt like the trailer for the 1st movie in a series, not the 3rd. Kinda odd they put that much emphasis on "Directed by Michael Bay, Produced by Steven Spielberg". Yeah, we saw the first two, we remember. If we didn't know Shia was back in this, I'd almost think they were jumping back to do the entire movie in the 60s.

Even Michael Bay has acknowledged that the 2nd movie was horrible. He blamed it on the writers strike and having a limited amount of time..

he says that this one will be much much better and atone for the horrible 2nd movie. He says all the corny humor and "dorkiness" is gone from this one and it is much more gritty and serious.

Just saw a screening.

It's just as good as the original Transformers and definitely better than Transformers 2. I was surprised, definitely exceeded my expectations, albeit low ones.

I enjoyed. Thought it was very good movie. Of course there are some scenes I could do without, but in the whole scheme of things, well worth the money, and will see it again and buy on DVD.

It wasnt the epic I was hoping for. It isnt as good as the first. But over an hour of battle/action at the end makes it a pretty good summer action movie. It will make a TON of money.
