It's pathetic that progressives get all riled up over this kind of populist, class-warfare tripe. I'm glad that most of the population isn't dumb enough to fall for it. 12/11/2010 5:23:30 PM |

Democracy = populism unless you add in healthy doses of bribery. 12/11/2010 6:01:13 PM |

I love how he calls people greedy for wanting to keep what they earn, yet finds it patriotic to take it away from them against their will. As if the rich dont give at all to charities. When you CHOOSE to give to a charity that is noble, when it is forced on you or taken then you are just avoiding jail....which is MORE NOBLE to this old fart. 12/11/2010 6:05:54 PM |

Care to refute Bernie on any specific points or are you just here to repeat Limbaugh-level buzz phrases?12/11/2010 6:06:23 PM |

^^ "War on the middle class" is a buzz phrase. "Populist class-warfare" is a description of the message of that buzz phrase.
If you have a transcript of his speech, I'd be glad to refute his main points. 12/11/2010 8:18:51 PM |

I think this is just the type of thing that enrages the middle class

Let's have a bit of perspective here...the banking industry has grown into a beast that is now more than just a means to an end but an end of itself. And middle america has to generally "work" for their income whereas many of these bankers are nothing more than someone that knows other people and handles money for all the parties (and in reality, the lawyers are the ones that make sure the contracts work). They don't really work. They lie, cheat, and steal their way to profits of other peoples money who gladly let them have their cut, just so long as they get theirs. And that is really the point that burns everyone up, that they did lie, cheat, and steal, and instead of getting the shackles and getting put on the street looking for work for everyone else, they bought the government and got bailed out on middle Americas dime. 12/11/2010 9:25:50 PM |

eyewall41, I agree.
And I feel really sorry for the people who don't see it.
I hope we're going to get it together and be okay though. 12/13/2010 9:45:44 AM |
