I figured this could be a fun way to pass the time over the holidays. The first to respond with the correct answer then gets to ask their own question. Here's mine to start it off.

How many times has NC State gone undefeated at Carter-Finley Stadium, and what year did this last occur?

Last time this occured was 1986.

(We tied, didn't lose)

Edit: According to GoPack, we've been undefeated at home 26 times in our history (Granted, most of those were early 1900's where we played 1 or 2 home games)

Dammit....Carter-Finley stadium...not all stadiums

Correct on that aspect. 1986 was the last time we went undefeated at home. Since you at least got part of it, I'll fill in the rest and you can ask a question.

NC State has had 5 seasons at Carter-Finley Stadium where they were undefeated.

1967 4-0
1972 5-0-1
1973 5-0
1974 5-0
1986 6-0-1

I've got two unrelated ones....one that's incredibly easy, the other that I don't think is common knowledge and might be incredibly difficult (Or everyone might know it...no idea)...just a factoid I know

1) Who scored the first basket in Reynolds Coliseum? (Should be easy)

2) Who was the first black player (basketball) to ever play for NC State's varsity team?

just realized these are both google~able

Al Heartly and William Cooper walked on the freshman team in 67

Heartly earned a scholarship for the varsity team the next year

At least that's what a paper I wrote five years ago on integration at State says

Dick Dickey

(I just wanted to type that name)

What former NC State baseball player did I spend half a game talking to about his playing days in Rhode Island where he played against my cousin's school?

I was 9 or 10 years old, and had to meet with Valvano and Houston in his office. I don't remember much of the conversation, but I'm sure it was hilarious.

People thought my dad was Tom Suiter when we first moved here.

We'd go to church and people would come up and ask him if he was the high school football guy.

FYI, Vic Bubas was the first player to score a basket in Reynolds if anyone cares/didn't know.

This one should be fairly easy, and I'm going off of memory, but I think I've got this right:

Q: NC State is one of 7 college basketball programs who have won a national championship under TWO or more different coaches. Who are the other 6?

1974 NC State Wolfpack.

Providence defeated UPenn to get the chance to face the Wolfpack on their home floor. The Wolfpack advanced on to play Pitt in the infamous David Thompson fall game, which was also played in Reynolds Coliseum. They then went on to defeat the reigning champion UCLA Bruins in the Greensboro Coliseum in the semifinals, and Marquette in the finals.

Another one:

There are 12 FBS FOOTBALL programs whose mascot does not end in the letter "s". Name them (Hint: 'Wolfpack' does not end in an 's'...11 to go)
