They are from 1992 and the rubber compound chosen did not last very well. They were already shot from an 8 valve 70hp engine but I didn't have a puck clutch so I didn't care. The plumbing for the cold side was moving more than i would like (BAM BAM FRAME RAIL ).

I have to respectfully disagree with the last part of your statement, primarily because I think the idea of taking some innocuous 70's Detroit sedan/wagon (Coronet, New Yorker, Continental, LeSabre, etc, or more specifically the old Malibu I have) and replacing the anemic smogged V8 with something built for power would be quite fun.

However I agree with the remainder of your statement.
