Elon is surprisingly good this year. They have one young guard that lit Duke up last week. Hopefully we play better defense... Elon reminds me a little of Gonzaga pre-hype. Lots of smart shooters with a few athletes.

With Tracy back it shouldn't be a problem though.

They play to their competition. They took it to Duke and it was close until the last 8 minutes of the game. That doesn't mean they'll play State the same way, but they are a smart, disciplined team from what I saw.

Granted, I've seen them play once and it was against the number 1 team in the country. It may be an outlier.

They were in the game and honestly, NC State isn't exactly Duke. We'll get the win, but I was impressed by Elon... they aren't nearly as bad as they used to be if they play like that every night.

Agreed. But, most teams don't show up every night. Regardless, State will win. Elon has a few decent players though and that wasn't the case when I lived around there and they were awful.

Final tuneup game so its very important that we play well.

The final score isn't important though I know everyone will bitch if we don't win by at least 25.

What's important is that we get good reps with tracy in the game. The one thing he didn't improve for us was our 3pt shooting which was still terribad against san diego.

Ill attribute that to spacing issues in his first game back and hope it improves this game bc we can't be a horrible perimeter team and make any significant noise this season.

Looking forward to seeing howell and tracy feed off each other again, that's really the key for us to beat acc competition. Aside from UNC there aren't many teams that can match up with us down low.

Leslies first game with smith back was pretty ugly but at least he hit the glass hard to make up for smiths weakness rebounding (let's hope that improves)

Last plea for javi to please step up. Harrow just isn't ready and we need good guard play. I know he CAN do it I don't know if he will though... Very frustrating he's too talented to be such a non factor at times

As a few others said, they seem to play smart and disciplined. They just aren't that great of basketball players. I saw them play @ Maryland this year, and I'm pretty sure they had the lead at the half. They went on to blow it, though. On offense, they just play fundamentally well. Most of their success seems to just be based off of shots falling. I hope we pressure them early, and capitalize on any chances that may result from the pressure. I can easily see this as being a game where we play really lackadaisically early on, and it ends up being a nailbiter. I'm sure we'll still win either way, though.

Can't wait to see more Tracy.

My main concern with State has been defense... and Elon is one of those teams that can hurt you if you don't pressure them. They flank the outside and can all hit shots.

I don't think we'll have a problem, but I'm just stating the obvious. We have to play intense defense to get them rattled.

This game makes me a little nervous.

Elon is a little more dangerous than the other bad teams we've played recently.

Its on a neutral court instead of homecourt and we could get caught looking ahead to the ACC schedule.

I'm glad tracy is back for this one he will hopefully get us enough easy baskets to settle us down if elon makes it competitive.

This is a potential season ender with little upside if we win...

I'm a "defender" of lowe because I'm a realist that can identify that he's doing a good job.

I'm nervous bc a loss here could derail our season and were only about 90% likely to win and there are some mitigating factors considering its a local team and we could get caught looking ahead that make it more like 80-85%

This is not a team we should destroy like the previous two, we're barely double digit favorites
