Wait, it's not called the brick yard anymore? That's.... weird.

I agree. The new space is absolutely beautiful. One day there will probably be another building there, but for right now, it's the perfect call. Wish there were more covered spaces there, but that's just me.

For those that haven't been back in ages, the brickyard isn't really the hub it used to be.

The growth of Centennial and the Hunt Library have cut in on a lot of traffic that used to flow through there, and the brickyard as a place to congregate has been passed on to other areas around campus that have seen a drastic improvement in landscape architecture.

The biggest draw away from the brickyard was probably the creation of Wolf Plaza (where the wolf statues are outside the Free Expression Tunnel) and the renovation of Talley, which created Stafford Commons in between the two points, which is by far a much more pleasant place to eat and hang out.

I never really congregated on the brickyard, I just walked across it for the most part.

I'm assuming there are still plenty of majors which never have a single class on centennial (i.e. all the majors other than most engineering and textiles.) I think I could count on my fingers the number of times I actually went into DH Hill, so I don't think Hunt library would get me to centennial if I didn't have class there.

in all fairness, it was never officially the brickyard. more natural landscape per sqft, I find the unofficial moniker to be less of a thing.
