combine that with the 10 races for $75 deals they used to do and you have unlimited racing for $22.


protip - sign up for their email list. not many emails...lots of good deals.
disclaimer - don't think they do the 10 for $75 anymore, at least I haven't see it pop up in my email in forever.

every once in a while they have a good groupon special.

i picked up those xmas certificates last year. never expired. 5 races for $50. i guess its a good deal if you race on a saturday. or a day when there arent good specials.

but those specials i posted up are from their recent Jan 21st email.

I had a good time in both, more chances for clean passes (and maybe drivers have better passing etiquette @VIR as well)? The one thing that bugs me about Rush Hour is that sometimes slower people don't get out of the way, or don't understand that some courtesy is required when all the karts have the same power. Otherwise great fun really.

Oh and btw, I'm down for a TWW karting meet!

I emailed them about the 10 races for $75 thing they used to do and got this as a response:

i usually check their calendar to make sure the time im going isnt booked. but the past two times ive been (during the winter break) its been pretty busy. an hour wait each time. but not bad if you're going to eat or catch a drink before your race (like an hour before).

how do u get the faster cart? I'm tall/fat, so I feel as though I am naturally at a disadvantadge by carrying an extra 50-75 lbs than the average person.

The 9hp? Apparently you have to average a certain time. Maybe 32sec. Don't remember. But you can ask the workers on track or ask one of the managers. I usually ask after 2 races or so, so they've seen my times and there is no question.

But I warn you. It's not any easier to drive than the 6.5s.

It takes more control and you can screw up a lot easier.

yeah, that high hp kart would be nice. I'm around 200 and those kids with awful lines are only a second off my times. don't have enough power on the 6.5 to drift through 8(?) the exit turn for the tech section before the front straight

orly. when you goin? also, is it fastest to drift the whole time rather than brake? I try to use my body weight like I do on my bike but that last switch back before the front straight is a bit too technical for my ass induced slides I think I did 32's? I've only been once

Drifting is rarely faster.
You don't need to brake. Half the folks drive flat out. I just lift to rotate when I'm headed into the back corner. Do yourself a favor and use the first few laps to warm the tires up and get used to the kart. The older ones were all sorts of crappy.

Some of the slower karts don't need lifting. I'm betting these new karts will be fairly quick so a little lift action may be in the works. But again. It's all about how you drive and keeping the revs/momentum up.

And yes, use your ass to rotate the kart. It helps a lot. The seats aren't centered so te right rear tire tends to hop. You can def. use throwing your body around to your advantage. And you can pretty much race corner to corner with these karts since the handle and turn on a time.
