Hate Steam. It's awful. It autoupdates all the games in my library.

I come from the old school PC gaming era. Prefer standalone, sole ownership of the products I buy. I don't want any claws stuck in it.

If my internet connection should be down, or their servers should be down, I am unable to launch the game. This is fundamentally an atrocious way to do business.

yea that hasnt been true for like 10 years dude. you can play all your games in offline mode as long as you've authenticated to steam atleast once.

steam owns. auto updating of games owns. not having to worry about physical copies of games getting lost or busted owns.

i've played tf2 and other heavily integrated steam games when steam is down so idk what ur deal is. i mean yea if the steam master browser servers are down then you arent going to be able to find a game, but thats been true for every single PC game thats ever had a server browser system.

Wow, demo is extremely short.

The good:
- Humor and pathos are all there, as expected.
- Plenty of action.
- Classic weapons make their return.
- Lots of gibbing.

The not so good:
- Vehicle control was only in third person. Could not switch to 1st person like the rest of the game is. Really hope they corrected that.
- Weapons management will take some getting used to. Can only carry two at a time, so to pick a new one up you have to swap. And the swapping is kinda awkward.
- Life (ego) automatically refills after a short period of time. Dunno if this is just a demo feature or it's intended to show how badass Duke is.
