So I was all excited about my new laptop, only to discover to my dismay that instead of an S-video port, it has a VGA. (guess I've finally entered the bronze age) I watch most of my TV shows online, hooking my laptop to the TV. Can I still do it?? My TV only has S-video and the red/yellow/white ports.

Yep, you can do it. Virtually all new laptops support tv output through the vga cable.

The cables are 5-10 bucks:

If you don't want to spend 10 bucks to find out if it works, a quick call to the customer support line of your laptop manufacturer will tell you for sure.
