my same thought...surprised they could get away with ripping off the idea as blatantly as they did

I shouldve known better to post something on tww. No matters what you post on here the haters will come out and shoot it down. I really wonder what would be the 'perfect' thread, a call of duty game consisting of topless women and star trek characters?

Bunch of damn haters around here.

While this is almost certainly true, it doesn't change the fact that this movie looks thoroughly mediocre

So if someone doesn't like something as much as you do their opinion just gets dismissed as someone that hates everything. Got it.

Kinda like Groundhog Day + Quantum Leap + a bit of the Matrix. The same 8 minutes repeated over and over to see who bombed a train. How about just going back and killing one person at a time until the train doesn't blow up, then go back and arrest that guy.

Also, this better not end with a mysterious twist. The bomber is... him

I dont have any problem with differing opinions at all. Having a different opinion and hating are not the same thing. Your post had a different opinion of how you think the story will be boring and predictable which is totally fine, the people above with witty comments were just hating.

I dont have anything invested in this movie, or think its going to be the best thing ever, its just a microcosm of tww as a whole how you can post something and 95% of the successive posters will find something about it to pick apart.

sand in the vagina this morning? certainly sounds like you have something invested in a seemingly mediocre movie

I liked it. Very entertaining movie. I don't want to give away details but there isn't a whole lot NOT to like about this movie.

I enjoyed it. Not blown away, but it was well worth the ticket.

Its the first good date movie I've seen in a long time. There's a lot of "feelings" without it being too lovey-dovey. There's plenty of suspense and action but never for suspense or action's sake.

I'd have to compare it to Moon and Memento.

I wasn't too interested in this movie, but a friend coming through town wanted to see it and I said, why not?

Actually I was pleasantly surprised. It was much better than I expected. Lumex has it about right -- it didn't blow me away, but it was more than worth the ticket.

^Agreed, saw it with a friend of mine he really liked it, but I just thought it was decent. Still better than I thought it was going to be, although, I'm probably never going to watch it again.

Saw it Friday and agree with everyone that it was a decent movie. The only thing that would have made it better is if he was able to get a pizza delivered.

I just watched this last night. Spoilers abound in my reply here.

While I liked it, the ending is extremely problematic from a moral or ethical standpoint. What the fuck happened to Sean Fentress?

Anyway, jbtilley said:

By the time Stevens is able to get the gun, Frost is already off the train.

You might argue that he could try to kill people unarmed. Taking the horrible psychic toll of murdering that many presumably innocent people off the table, there's still a question as to whether it's likely Sean could have killed each of them unarmed. It's just not very feasible.

Also, we never see Frost actually call either phone to detonate the bomb. For all we know, there's a second actor, or the calls are automatic or triggered by some other event. So even if he eventually killed Frost, the bomb may still have gone off. You could argue that the bomb didn't go off after Stevens subdued Frost in the final attempt, but you don't know in advance that that's the case.
