^ a damn funny movie, but i'd agree it's a bit overrated. and maybe that's just because every slobbed its knob so much.

i'll definitely watch this one too. i ain't above it.

I didn't say it isn't funny, it is

WAY overhyped though

I'll see the sequel, just not in a big hurry to

I fucking LOVED hot tub time machine, but when I recommended it to one of my best friends he hated it. I think there's a difference betweeen the hangover and movies like httm simply due to jokes per minute.. I think the hangover tries to be funny every scene. I don't know

i didnt think hot tub was very funny but the hangover definitely wasnt that funny. I'm not sure it was really even a comedy. There were some funny parts but ill never watch it a second time thats for sure. Most overrated comedy of the past decade is a fitting tag.

Now the Other Guys was really funny but other than that theres been a dearth of comedies lately...

no i think theres a pretty good consensus amongst people who like comedies that the hangover wasnt very funny. I dont know many people who enjoyed it that like comedies.

Now for your typical "oh boy that was fun" crowd like my mom or someone who has never been to vegas i can see how it would have been enjoyable.

I didnt think it was awful... galifinakis had some funny lines but most of the movie you are just waiting on it to pick up..

It definitely wasn't a comedy lover's type of movie hence the broad appeal it had to the general public.

It's not a movie you can stomach more than once or twice and certainly not a classic movie anyone will be quoting years later like an anchorman, super troopers, cable guy, zoolander, wayne's world, dumb and dumber, etc.

Hell it's not even on par with a 40yr old virgin or superbad type broad appeal movie.

It certainly doesnt make the hilariously stupid list like a freddy got fingered, hot rod, night at the roxbury.

It makes the forgettable broad appeal comedy movie list. Maybe a great movie for parents, women, and children. Relatively funny and watchable but clearly not a great comedy.

Except that is always the case with comedy, so much so that it's not even worth mentioning.

I liked Dumb and Dumber around when it came out but I couldn't sit through the whole thing now. I guess I'm weird or in the minority here. I like comedies (and am usually very picky) but very few of them have a lot of replay value for me unless it has been a really, really long time since I watched it.

Anyway, The Hangover certainly wasn't a really great movie or anything but it had me and all of my friends laughing most of the movie when we saw it (I don't know if i'll see the second one).

I think The Hangover was funnier than dumb and dumber, and has a higher "re-watch" potential as well.

Not sure why everyone is hating on The Hangover, i still enjoy it when its on.

I wouldn't say that I am excited about #2 though, I am expecting a rehash of the same stuff from #1. Group goes to exotic city, one guy gets in trouble, the rest of the movie is a bunch of scenarios as they try to get guy in trouble out of trouble.

I can't disagree with this statement.

Like I said, I thought the Hangover was hilarious...But, I don't expect much out of Hangover 2. I don't really see how they can make the 2nd movie much different from the 1st one, other than a change of scenery and such. I'll still see it.

If you listen to Tenacious D and still think Jack Black is the unfunniest funnyman in the history of funnymen then I don't know what to say. I will admit that he's suffered from some being cast in some terrible movies, but the man is funny.

The first Hangover was hilarious. Steve Martin is funny and has made good movies. Need I bring up ¡Three Amigos!?

You know everything is not an anecdote. You have to discriminate. You choose things that are funny or mildly amusing or interesting. You're a miracle! Your stories have NONE of that. They're not even amusing ACCIDENTALLY! "Honey, I'd like you to meet Del Griffith, he's got some amusing anecodotes for you. Oh and here's a gun so you can blow your brains out. You'll thank me for it." I could tolerate any insurance seminar. For days I could sit there and listen to them go on and on with a big smile on my face. They'd say, "How can you stand it?" I'd say, "'Cause I've been with Del Griffith. I can take ANYTHING." You know what they'd say? They'd say, "I know what you mean. The shower curtain ring guy. Woah." It's like going on a date with a Chatty Cathy doll. I expect you have a little string on your chest, you know, that I pull out and have to snap back. Except I wouldn't pull it out and snap it back - you would. Agh! Agh! Agh! Agh! And by the way, you know, when you're telling these little stories? Here's a good idea - have a POINT. It makes it SO much more interesting for the listener!

I fell asleep about 30 minutes into the Hangover the first time I watched it. I wasn't until later that someone informed me that it was the "funny as hell movie that everyone was talking about"

It may have had something to do with jet lag on a flight to Tahoe and watching it at 4am "my time" on a belly of heavy beer but I figure hell, if shit was that funny it would have kept me awake.

Good fucking god did you just say knocked up AND anchorman?

Anchorman is one of the funniest movies ever made and knocked up is a chick flick.

What the goddam fuck.

And anyone who doesnt like Dumb and Dumber is a super faggot.

Let me put this in perspective for you. You've got some old college buddies over for NFL sunday or a State-Carolina game. Maybe one's even from out of town. After the game is over everyone's a little drunk and enjoying the camaradie and time away from their bitch wife and possibly their crying baby.

You say hey guys I have an idea let me pop in this DVD its HILARIOUS.

If you choose the hangover every single one of those motherfuckers is going to make up an excuse to leave right then. "Oh i promised my wife i'd be home by 5" "oh ive got to get to home depot before they close" etc.

Nobody and I mean fucking nobody that's seen the hangover is going to be interested in ever seeing that again. I'd rather fuck a girl I met at PB's in 2004 that's gained 30 lbs since then again then spend what seems like 3 hours watching that movie.

Now contrast that with a good comedy and get back to me.
