skyrim doesn't come out until november

therefore, march is not the end-all/be-all month of game releases

Just started playing the single player on PC. It's fun. FYI if you have SLI you'll have to download the latest Nvidia drivers and newer profiles to get SLI working.

Doesn't look as good as the first though.

Just curious, but what kinds of specs are y'all running and what kind of performance are you getting? I know I will need a new graphics card before I even consider this.

i7 950 at 3.2ghz and 2 EVGA 460's in SLI running on a Vertex 2 SSD. I first started playing it without SLI and it actually ran decent with a single 460 at the very high settings (only graphics options are high-very high-extreme). After downloading the beta drivers and newer profiles I was able to turn on SLI and it vsyncs at 60fps.

-so basically it runs A LOT better than the first Crysis but I don't think it looks as good. The textures aren't as great. The environment isn't really destructible. Sure it looks great overall but it feels scaled down.

^^ my new rig will have an i7 960 at 3.2ghz stock and a single MSI GTX560Ti. from everything i have read, that setup should easily handle the very high settings, if not the extreme settings. i will of course find out for myself in the next week when i finally receive everything and build it.

^nice. Make sure you get a mobo with a second PCI-E slot. Get a second 560i down the road.

^ yup, my thoughts too i'm going with the gigabyte g1 sniper mobo that has the capability for tri-sli. this puppy is gonna be future-proof for quite awhile, which was a big intention of mine.

can't wait to try all the latest games on it, including Crysis 2. dying to play it too lol

^the mid-range cards such as the 460's/560's lack 3-way SLI support. Have to get a 580 if you want 3 or 4 way support. At least the last time I checked. 2 560's should be plenty for a while though.

just installed the game on my new rig last night and so far, smooth as butter on extreme settings. the visuals are once again beautiful right down to the details of the streets, cars, buildings, everything. oh and the game-play ain't bad either hehe

and to answer ^: yes, the demo was only MP. and the demo, from what i read, had a lot of unfinished elements to it.

^it's a much watered down version of Crysis 1. You should try the first one if you want to see your new rig struggle.

i hadnt thought of that quite honestly. i had played that and warhead and beat them both and never really figured i would play them again. but for the sake of testing out the new machine, maybe i should do that...

Yeah you'll probably be able to turn up the quality but not AA all the way. You can really tell the difference in the texture quality. The trees, rocks, plants, and structures look waaaay better than any game out there.

Finished the game, played the multiplayer last night and LOVED IT. I honestly think its better than Modern Warfare 2. It feels exactly the same (like they copied it) but with the cloaking and armor mods, is so much more fun.

OK, where can I find a list of the multiplayer modes? I'm starting to contemplate getting this for 360 since my current computer won't be able to handle this and I'm not planning on building another one until Battlefield 3 is out.

Let's try this again, in my own words:

Instant Action - traditional deathmatch - every man for himself

Team Instant Action - team deathmatch

Crash Site - team deathmatch combined with bases that you must capture and defend - much like CODMW2's Domination mode

Assault - similar to Demolition in CODMW2 with a few changes (I haven't played this yet)

Capture the Relay - CTF

The demo was fun, air stomp is definately one of the more satisfying ways to kill someone in an FPS. My beef was how laggy it was though, even worse than Black Ops at times. I know it was just a demo, but it really took away from the game.

It would be perfect for PC if I could run it

For $40, I would say get it. The campaign is the biggest draw of the game. Multiplayer is a completely unapologetic ripoff of COD's structure, but I still enjoy it (and I detest COD) thanks to some fairly large and interesting maps and the cloak/armor mechanics. I haven't even unlocked CTF mode yet, but I surely do look forward to seeing how it handles. I have thus far had zero lag issues on my end, and I don't especially feel like I have that great an internet connection in my neighborhood.

Well, much like COD, you have to be a certain rank before you can join certain game modes. For instance, you have to be rank 12 before CTF opens up.

I tried dashboarding out of a game when I was the only 4 bar player and my friend said the game didn't stop for a second.
