Things are looking up compared to recent years. Strasburg has lost weight and is throwing. Harper might get a few swings if things get desperate. All in all the club is headed in a positive direction but I foresee another last place finish in the NL East.

I'll probably go to a couple of games for the hell of it. Never been yet.

I'll go just to see Jayson Werth. Anyone making 126 mil must be worth the price of admission.

$100 says Bryce Harper gets as many swings for the Nationals as I do this season

The new stadium is about as convenient as it gets if you take the Metro. RFK was awful.

I've only lived in DC for 3 weeks. What's the area around the stadium like?

^ It's getting better. The Bullpen is a good spot to check out before the game. It's right outside the main entrance of the park from the Metro.

[Edited on March 3, 2011 at 1:53 PM. Reason : I guess I should clarify that the Bullpen is a drinking establishment, not the actual bullpen.]

Yeah I agree. It's basically right next to the Navy Yard stop. The activities going on in and around the stadium before the game are pretty entertaining.

Harper is currently playing minor league baseball in my home town. Growing up though they were an Orioles followed by Blue Jays farm team. The switch to Nats was relatively recent.

^nice

im very excited for this year, i honestly dont care if they win, the stadium is just a lot of fun to go to, and the nearby bars are fun for a pre-game/dinner.

Opening day tickets are available for 75 cents if you can get to the park in 3 hours.

yesterday was the worst baseball game i've ever been to. the pitching had to have been the worst i've observed in a game since the start of the steroids era.

I went to that game too but I crushed enough chili and beer down my piehole to make it bearable.

The pitching can't be too terrible over all though. 9-9 with a .218 team batting average suggests opposing hitters must also be struggling.
