Sucks that he died, but pretty good way to go.
Only better way I could think of would be busting my nut in my 16 year old girlfriend.
I mean, if I was 16 also, like the kid. 3/4/2011 10:03:24 AM |

^^^^correct me if I'm wrong, but you go that long to keep getting oxygen to the brain, and wait to see if you can get access to better care (ie: defib, epi pen, etc...)
I could be totally wrong, but that is why I thought you would keep on going with it 3/4/2011 11:02:33 AM |

ok, so they spent 80 minutes trying to figure out how to get his heart going again, while still trying to get oxygen to his brain (I would imagine)... what's your point? I, personally, would want them to try and exhaust all their options to keep my alive 3/4/2011 11:21:15 AM |

if it was the doctors from star wars, they wouldve just diagnosed it as a broken heart and called it a day 3/4/2011 11:22:31 AM |

obviously, the point is that if he's at the hospital and they can't figure out how to keep his ass alive after 45 minutes, they're probably not going to--which is in fact what happened 3/4/2011 11:58:58 AM |

lock the parents up then...
but seriously, that's pretty fucked up. I bet he had some sort of undiagnosed heart disease; I forgot what it was, but something very similar happened to a Russian high school hockey star here in the states. I forgot what High School he was from, but he was expected to go to NHL straight out, but in one of his games, late into the last period, he collapsed. They thought he was just checked too hard, but the found him not breathing. The Medics already left the game because it was like 1 min left on the clock. He later died on the ice before the medics could even get back.

Not exactly a bad way to go out. With the way the economy is, there's a good chance he wouldn't have had that great of a life.

no, a winner would have died after getting laid by the hottest chick in school as a direct result of winning the game 3/4/2011 3:09:21 PM |

I'm banking on Long QT syndrome. Genetic disorder (can be dominant or recessive depending on which specific type you have), common medical cause of sudden death in young people, and most go undiagnosed until someone dies in the family. There are 8 different forms, and each kind of has their own set-offs... One form is by an extreme adrenaline rush and others involve hearing a really loud noise then dropping dead (seriously).
Very, very sad.
