I bought this tablet in order to participate in a study in Cary. I was considering keeping it, but it isn't practical for me to have one with my budget. Its only been charged twice, so it is in brand new condition. It comes with everything just like it was new, including the tablet's plastic sleeve, and all cables, chargers, and manuals, etc. It is one of the few Android tablets in its price range with a capacitive screen. It will be fully reset to manufacture defaults, and I can put Android marketplace on it (like on the droid phones) if you want. I'm asking 250$. Here is the link to Archos for the technical specs:

Yeah, its the 8GB version. It has a microSDHC slot though that can take up to 32GB in case you need additional space. 3/16/2011 2:47:32 PM |

I have one, love it. Cheap galaxy tab to me. I get around a week of battery life just doing email and kindle app and stuff. 3/16/2011 3:38:22 PM |

Yeah I was pleasantly surprised with the speed for its price. As long as you don't have a ton of apps running, its pretty quick. And its really simple to get Android marketplace (just download an app), which normally only comes on the tablets with plans. 3/16/2011 4:37:49 PM |

One thing I have enjoyed about Archos is they're constantly patching the firmware to deal with bugs. Since Christmas we've had 3 firmware updates and each one has brought additional speed and features.
The latest is actually quite good. By default the processor is set to 800Mhz (with scaling, obviously) but with a few taps you can raise that to 1Ghz. In 1Ghz mode with the word prediction turned off it's really quite fast. I haven't hit the process manager since the last update - they fixed a memory leak that now swaps out apps correctly.
All in all, great tablet for the cash. And the only one in it's price range with HDMI output. 3/16/2011 7:02:54 PM |
