This post really has no purpose other than me being an annoying fucking worrywart and taking it out on a white text box because I have pretty much bugged the fuck out of everyone else. Does anyone know somebody that has had a internship with Volvo? My GPA isnt the greatest but it is above a 3.00 and I am on eco car and had experience with the dumb fucks of wolfpack motorsports. The guys who interviewed me told me I had all of the qualifications and everything went smoothly. I'm just sorta concerned about the smarter fucks who have higher GPAs. I know mine isnt the best BUT I have a lot of experience in automotive design/ fabrication. QUESTION: do most interviewers look for the nice GPA or experience? Thanks tdubbers. 3/19/2011 7:50:42 PM |

I'm assuming you are referring to Volvo Trucks in Greensboro.
Which internship did you apply to? Is it in the design group or in the durability (strength and fatigue) group? The durability group will probably be looking for higher GPAs. I can't speak on behalf of the design group.

Whats up. Yeah in G'boro. The position is actually for extererior components forward of the cab like hoods, bumpers, grills...basically supporting engineers and designers...crossing fingers 3/19/2011 10:14:41 PM |

It's completely arbitrary whether an interviewer will care about your GPA. Experience always looks good, and personally I look for the people that don't act afraid of me during the interview process. GPA is what gets you a shot in the first place, and beyond that it's your soft skills that really matter. 3/28/2011 7:12:52 PM |
