everytime somebody asks me what the hell Raleigh Wide Open is, i have no idea what to tell them other than, "it sucks."

I am. We've been to the past two and had a great time. I was looking forward to this one being a fun 1st family event to go to w/ the babe either strapped to the chest in the Bjorn or strolling about.
and I also agree with ^3/22/2011 6:38:48 PM |

that's why hopscotch is so awesome, because it does that AND it actually rules 3/22/2011 6:41:40 PM |

If there were not a lot of similar downtown events, I'd be more concerned about getting people downtown.
However, between Hopscotch, both bike weekends, Artsplosure, Sparkcon, Winterfest, and god knows what else, there's a street festival down there every fourth or fifth week. One less isn't going to make a huge difference, especially when it's one without a reason to exist. 3/22/2011 7:44:37 PM |

1) charge small admission fee 2) charge vendors rent 3) use proceeds to pay for city costs 4) don't profit because you're the government 5) ??? 6) festival continues 3/26/2011 10:45:10 AM |
