haha has to be troll bait or a joke although I really did enjoy IX because it reminded me of US II and III. If I had to rank them I'd go with:

VII
US III - very close to number one on my list but I just spent a lot more time with VII growing up
IX
Tactics - very underrated imo
X
US II
..and the rest.

I don't think X-2 should even be considered as part of the series, I could never get into XI and I for one thought that VIII sucked ass. It just did not feel like a FF to me besides some of the traditional series elements (names for items, people, etc.)

I, too, started VII on the computer.

Man I loved this game. For like the first week though I didn't have a memory card so I would have to leave that shit paused indefinitely and hope for the best.

Then at some point at the very end of disc 3 I had some kind of deep scratch that would cause it to freeze up on me at the same point every time. I got so frustrated that I never beat it. =(

I turned into a little bitch when Aeris died.

Tactics underrated? It's practically worshipped, despite not being a "main" Final Fantasy game.

I didn't care IX. Mostly forgettable soundtrack, all the main characters were ugly and unappealing (except for Dagger), and the throwback battle system didn't interest me. Only thing I liked was the humor.

I too put VIII up at the top, but that's probably because it was my first FF game. X is right there with it. IX and X-2 are at the bottom because they both sucked. VII I don't really place since I don't really care about it one way or the other.

I actually enjoyed VIII a lot. It might be because it was my first FF out of the series that I played so I had nothing else to compare it to at the time.

^I recommend against buying any of the mobile FF games.

I bought FF2, and though I'm a fan of the game, playing a FF on my iPhone just didn't work. The controls were adequate, but after 20 minutes it becomes tedious. It's not ergonomic like a game-boy - something that's designed to be held and played for many hours. Also, I've never been compelled to sit and play a game on my phone for hours on end.

I tried playing in 15-minute bursts, but that wasn't enough time for the story/immersion aspect of playing FF to kick in. Also, I kept forgetting what I was doing before my last save, so I end up wasting a lot of time back-tracking.
