Not really. It was okay, but not nearly as good as the originals. I'd say wait for the DVD.

I saw this tonight. Wes Craven is really good at making fun of his own genre while working within it. While S2 poked at sequels and S3 at trilogies, this movie revolves around the idea of new generation remakes and reboots.

What I liked most was that almost every character had a motive, so at the beginning there were a lot of directions where the plot could gom but unfortunately it feels like the writer ran out of ideas and just drew scenarios out of a hat.

It was kind of enjoyable up until the killer is revealed. Essentially they kill off every character it can possibly be, so you know the only ones left before the reveal. Some people will consider it a twist ending but most should see it coming. There are two or three characters I would have rather seen be the killer(s) than who it actually turned out to be.

I hated the buddy cops despite them being played by Anthony Anderson and Adam Brody...why does Anderson always play a cop???

Hayden Panettiere was surprisingly good, but she really needs to stop playing high schoolers.

this movie blew shit

it was essentially a remake of the original with the caveat "the killer is re-writing the original" and i was sorely disappointed

i don't know what else to say, other than this was a huge waste of my money

I agree it wasn't worth today's cost of a movie ticket, but I don't think it was any worse than scream 3.

Yeah it was better than Scream 3, but it really was more of a comedy than horror flick. I didn't "jump" a single time and I laughed at the ridiculousness of various scenes. And I guessed the killer way too early, could have been a lucky guess but in these movies it's always the person they don't show any motive for, haha.

Avoid. Watch it on TV later for free.
