I take the elevator for any floor if i'm wearing particularly nice clothes or its hot. Otherwise I ALWAYS take the stairs for up to like 8-10 floors depending on how large the steps are and how tired i am. This is why you are all fat

For about 2/3 the time we lived in bowen hall we only had one good elevator, the other was on the fritz a good 60% of the time. We were on the 8th floor and anyone who took the elevator to anything below 4 always got the evil eye.4/18/2011 1:05:33 PM |

What, are they handing out handicapped permits to obese people that just don't feel like walking those 10 extra feet in the parking lot before they walk around the mall?

I never take the stairs to any floor if there is a door separating me from the stairs and an elevator exists.
If there are convenient stairs or escalator next to the elevator, I will always take the stairs or escalator because it's faster and I'm not lazy.
In conclusion, I use whatever gets the job done fastest independent of bodily energy cost, situationally speaking of course. 4/18/2011 2:53:26 PM |

Stupid BB&T building locks the stairwells. I would be happy to walk the stairs when I have to go between floors but I physically can't 4/18/2011 2:55:11 PM |

99% sure that is against the fire code and you can get them in trouble if you wanted to.4/18/2011 2:56:30 PM |

You can enter the stairwell but once you do you must walk all the way to the ground floor to get out. Which doesn't help me unless I'm going to the ground floor 4/18/2011 2:57:59 PM |

I remember this discussion when I lived in UT
then they put an alarm on the side stairwell, so if you lived at the end of the 2nd floor, you had to walk all the way to the other end of the floor and down that stairwell
cause if you got on the elevator all the tuff rich kids would bitch at you 4/18/2011 7:26:18 PM |

I work with a handicapped person that can hardly walk, but he refuses to take the elevator.
Also, I experienced actual confrontations between upper floor residents and 3rd floor residents when I lived in Metcalf. Shit is not that serious.

What about who cares and the thought that the person doing this is probably older with bad knees from being inactive, overweight, and sitting in a cubicle all day. Otherwise it's a 6 second delay and there's bigger things to get upset about, like the fact that it's not legal to cut somebody's fucking throat for being a piece of shit. 4/18/2011 8:46:06 PM |
