I was trying to think of stuff that most of us still actually watch that needs to die.

If we want to do everything, then I probably should have gone the other way: Popular TV Shows that Should Live. The list would be a whole lot shorter that way.

American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, and the rest of those singing and dancing bullshit shows. Glee, Survivor, Big Brother, House, Around the Horn, Desperate Housewives, Cougar Town, Law and Order (all of them), CSI (all of them). 30 Rock, The O'Reilly Factor, and anything with Vampires in it

Agreed on American Idol and the singing and dancing shows. All reality TV in general. I guess I'll be specific and give Survivor a mention.

What really sucks is that those shows get boosts in ratings from all the reluctant husbands, fathers, boyfriends, etc. that have to sit through that trash every single weeknight of their lives. They play that crap every single night and often it will be one dance show followed by another and another.

I'm glad I'm not in that situation - a reluctant, resigned watching of carbon copy crap, but I know people that are and they hate it.

I think SNL could be resurrected a bit if they cut the show to 60 minutes and dropped the musical guest down to one performance. Slimming the show down would force them to either shorten sketches or cut out the worst of the sketches, maybe both.

if she's already watching it, and nielson doesn't know if there's just 1 or 30 people sitting in front of the tv, i wouldn't really say it boosts ratings.

I have no idea, I just remember when they some ratings entity or other mailed us a package we had to fill out info on every member in our house and when we did the viewing log it had an area to specify which members of the household watched the program. Of course this was years ago.

Regardless I feel sorry for all the men out there coerced into watching that crap.

Justified
Doctor Who (Matt Smith is surprisingly good)

I couldn't care less what happens to the rest.

I have had to make a fucking spreadsheet for all the shows I watch. Its fucking ridiculous! I mainly just did it to keep up with where I can get shows and when they air so I can stream them or torrent them if need be since I cut the cord.
