Your probably screwed, if it is not your primary source of transportation (obviously the POS wasnt) then you most likely arent going to get anything except a SBA disaster loan application in the mail in a week or so.

Get a low interest loan to fix up the POS!

Tough shit, why should I have to pay for it?

Get some better insurance and quit whining.

Fuck the haters!

Milk FEMA for whatever they'll give you. Hopefully they won't call it totaled and you can take the $ and fix it up yourself with 2nd hand parts and keep the remainder for when your food stamps run out.

people that think like this don't deserve a response...but!
if you don't like where your money goes, talk to your representatives, not to the people that suffered property damage in a storm

It's not like the dude created the program himself just to pay for his car. This is exactly why the program already exists, good for him for using it as it was meant to be used.

I dont think FEMA will pay for a secondary vehicle, just like with a vacation home, they will not give you any money, but SBA will offer you a loan!

it wasn't a secondary vehicle

the FEMA inspector has come and gone
could have a determination by tues
also, the EBT program has so additional funds available for those who went without power and lost their fridge's contents. just an fyi to those that read this and need that.

also if you have insurance, it potentially covers the contents of your fridge

our extra freezer died a few weeks ago (we think a mouse chewed the cord) and we got $$ to cover the food that spoiled because it was covered in our insurance policy

so that is another option that people sometimes don't know about - check your policies if ya got 'em.

it was off the road to fix an oil leak...it took so long cause i started out fixing the head gasket, but the leak was later determined to be the rear main seal, so the engine came out, got a new seal, and went back in...I used the hoist for maybe 6 hours once...then i redid the oil pan gasket cause it was still leaking, i did the timing belt and valve cover gasket as well as replace the power steering pump, and distributor. until this, my experience was limited to having buddies guide me through but now i can do all sorts of shit quickly and properly to a car, it just took getting dirty up to my elbows to learn it.

Let me also say that I only called FEMA about my car - i didn't bust out a window, and stack all my electronics under it and claim storm damage, or whatever it is scammers try with FEMA reps. If they determine I don't qualify for any benefits, that will be the end of it and I will have the car towed to a junk yard at that point.
