I get a sense of sadness when I look at what once was and will never again be. I hate it, but admire it. It gives me appreciation to live in the moment because the moment will never ever happen again.
It's hard to describe the feelings I get when I see my great grandparents who I've never met... as teenagers.
Or my dad as a 2 year old.
It's just so strange. Even seeing pictures of me when I was 7 was awkward because so much in the world has changed. Clothes, photography, architecture, health and wellness.
It's awesome to see some of my relatives who are close to the end of their lives currently, in their prime of their life. I would have never foresaw their dramatic endings but it's sad. The people of my grandmother's generation call each other every week to make sure nobody has passed away.
On the brighter side, It's awesome to see the old 1936 cars when they were brand new. It's awesome to see the bathing suits my grandparents wore. It's awesome to see family hugging, holding hands in pictures, and posing in ways that would raise eyebrows today. It's cool how times change, for better and worse.
That is all.

my grandma's best friends, who she had been best friends with since elementary school, all did the same thing. they played bridge, got together once a week, did birthdays together, had girls' night out, etc. it boggles my mind how you can keep friends for 70 years.4/24/2011 9:56:35 PM |

^^ I think thats just natural. I've got three kids now and with the oldest we took pics/video of everything. By the time you get to child 3 it's just kinda, "Shes walking huh? Well thats nice."
