America hires Actor for President, think he will do a better job than an appeasing Liberal.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/1980/nov/05/usa.alexbrummer

Quote :
"Ronald Reagan will be the next President of the United States. He was heading for the White House early today in what appeared to be a landslide victory in the presidential election.
As the returns poured in, it became evident within 90 minutes of the first counts that the coalition on which Mr Carter had counted for his re-election had crumbled all over the country.

Minnesota Felons hire "Comedian" for Senator

Quote :
"Norm Coleman (R) today conceded defeat to former Saturday Night Live star Al Franken (D) in the U.S. Senate contest in Minnesota following the Minnesota Supreme Court's ruling that Franken won last November's election, completing one of the longest election processes in American history and giving the Democrats an even larger majority in the Senate."

Probably they're just stupid for getting caught. I'd be shocked if campaigns of every stripe didn't do this regularly. I doubt many politicians would suggest or endorse such a tactic -- just because of potential blowback -- but I'm sure all sorts of political groups do it all the time. "So who's going to this meeting? Alright, yeah! Make sure you ask about ________."

Oh, don't forget this one:

Quote :
"Actor Kal Penn, known for his roles in the "Harold and Kumar" movies and the television series "House," has been hired by the White House to serve as a liason between the administration and arts groups."

Because he's the cool president.

kdogg(c), can you explain how an actor declaring their candidacy, and and elected official secretly hiring actors to cover your ass in Townhall meetings by asking you softball questions are the equivalent?

I look forward to your answer.

I honestly don't blame them too much. You are not asking for too much just to have someone form a coherent question (not just accuse you of something) and not scream it at the top of their lungs at you.

^True. Democrats should've used the same actors during the Healthcare Townhalls.

I'm wondering it's because they are not able to publicly speak well or if it's because they are ashamed of the questions what they know their base constituency would ask.

Don't these Congressmen have someone who can wrangle these people? I mean, I understand the frustration from all sides, it's the same as the bitching over health care. But the thing is, you can't ever let the inmates run the asylum.

Here's what you're going to start hearing from repugnicans and their lick-spittles:

Quote :
"? The President’s own fiscal commission described this year as a “moment of truth.”
? According to the President’s own budget, if you have a child in 2015, he or she will be born with $38,000 in debt, enough to buy a brand new 2011 Ford Expedition SUV.
? If left untouched, in 30 years we will be borrowing $2 for every $1 we spend.
? Under the President’s current budget, the CBO calculates that the economy will crash in 2037 and their simulations can’t conceive of any possible scenario in which our economy can continue.
? Entitlement programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security are the root causes of our long-term budget problems.
o In 30 years, Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security alone, will cost nearly as much as we take in each year in taxes.
? If we fail to summon the courage to fix this problem, we will default on our responsibility to our children and grandchildren, placing upon them a burden they will NEVER be able to recover from."

What a short memory we must have to forget what happened during the summer of 2009 in the town-hall meetings.
