how in the hell do you stay in there longer than 5 minutes
its horrible, theres a posted "15 minute time limit" on the thing but youve gotta be a fuckin MAN to make it that far
i sat in there for 5 minutes and damn near wound up choking to death. Also, everytime you move it feels like spontaneous combustion
never again. 5/4/2011 12:12:32 PM |

I love the steam room - it's the sauna I can't stand.
You just kinda control your breathing to keep it slow and smooth. And I used to go over the 15 minute limit. Can almost fall asleep in the suckers. 5/4/2011 12:14:33 PM |

Try taking a cool water bottle and towel in there to put on your head. It's helped me before when i've gotten over heated in those things. Or if you come out for a few minutes, cool down, then go back in. 5/4/2011 12:20:17 PM |

I love sitting in the steam room after a workout. I've never had a problem breathing though.

Sauna is the dry heat one, right? I love that... have even fallen asleep inside
Last summer sat in one for about 10 minutes at 80 Celsius.
As for steam rooms, they make it difficult to breathe, but I managed 10-15 minutes last summer. There were 4, and they had essential oil scents (mint, lavender, and 2 flower ones). Sat for 3-4 minutes in each one consecutively.
Definitely prefer the sauna. 5/4/2011 12:46:20 PM |

^^ He's probably referring to cutting weight to make a weight limit for a fight. It's normal to do these type of tactics to make weight and then rehydrate before the fight. Not burning actual fat if that's what you're thinking. 5/4/2011 3:29:51 PM |

Cover your mouth, and leave a small gap in your hands. You should go to Finland and check out some of the saunas with some real heat. 190F will put some hair on your chest. 5/4/2011 6:43:24 PM |

Back at NCSU, I could take the heat of the steam room Breathing was fine
But I couldn't quite stomach the sensation of breathing the salty, sweaty funk of old men sitting next to me. 5/4/2011 10:27:20 PM |

The same goes for Japan. The unbearable, 190F heat coupled with naked Japanese men doing sit-ups was nearly more than I could stomach.5/5/2011 8:23:05 AM |

The steam room makes it easier for me to breathe. Clears my sinuses.
But, I do have some slight asthmatic issues...
Dry sauna sucks. Makes my nostrils hurt. 5/5/2011 10:24:56 PM |
