Harrow to decide by the end of May on his next school, per Zagoria. He and his mom have already visited Kentucky, Texas, Louisville and Georgia. They were visiting St. John's yesterday.

Looks like he's competing with former Arizona PG “Momo” Jones for a spot on the team. SJU just lost 10 seniors to graduation, and signed 9 high school recruits. Not sure how many were walk-ons.

Harrow never made it up to St. John's and had to talk to the coaches on the phone. He's now supposed to announce his decision next week.

I don't know where he'll end up. At this point, he's a 2012 prospect. I agree with everyone else that Kentucky is way over his head, although they don't have a PG signed yet for 2012. But obviously that doesn't matter right now because they'll easily snag a McD's All-American, no prob.

I'd guess UGA, because it's close to home and is probably his best shot at getting PT out of those schools. They're losing 2 to the draft, and 2 seniors. But they've already got 5 freshmen signed. Who knows?

Harrow to UK per Pack Pride's guys who follow Harrow on Twitter. If Harrow had trouble with criticism from our fan base then .

I just don't get Harrow's thought process in the entire situation. He didn't play over Javi for parts of this year and apparently was pissed about it and may have not stayed at NCSU regardless of the coach. So he transfers out of an opportunity where he'd probably start next year, and goes to a place that will pull in top talent as long as Calipari's there. Sure he could start for UK in 2012, but what happens if he doesn't? Would he run off to Twitter again and end up transferring?

he's a huge vagina

end of story. he obviously was not ready for the scrutiny of D1 basketball. we should have all seen this coming when he wrote that letter in support of Lowe while he was a SR in HS. i mean let's be real here, when he published his letter, it came across as contrived and immature because he thought he was bigger than the program. i wish him all the best successes in whatever school he chooses, but he is a player who thinks he deserves something, while we are pulling in players who are looking to prove something. i prefer that to the shitty attitude he brought to State.

he transferred to a school that is coached by someone who recently has coached 3 point guards who all currently start in the NBA

remind me how he's stupid?

because Calipari is going to recruit the #1 high school PG in the nation every single year and he will start ahead of Harrow

guys like Rose and Wall would start at age 18 ahead of Harrow at age 23 (if he redshirted)

and i cant think of the 3rd guy unless you're prognosticating Terrence Jones

he'll be a bench player at UK

he would have been a starter at NCSU, without having to sit out.

i might be a homer, but i don't think he has the mental fortitude to be a successful PG at KU

Rose, Wall and Evans (who isn't really a point guard) were lottery picks before they even set foot on campus. Claiming Calipari groomed any of his five-star elite talent into NBA material is specious.

It's sounds like sour grapes -- and this is the sort of thing I've used like 95% of my posts to call dudes out on -- but this is a really dumb decision by Harrow. Unless he spends every free second during his off year busting his ass in the weight room, eating HGH for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and listening to self-affirmation tapes, he'll never be more than the fourth guy off the bench for Calipari.

Good chance that Teague is one and done. So he might not be there when Harrow is ready to play in '12.

Highest ranking point guard in '12 is ranked somewhere around 30.

Harrow has a good chance to be starting in '12. If he can somehow bulk up and work really hard this year, it's possible that he can do really well in Kentucky. That was probably the logic behind this decision.

^^ glad someone mentioned this. Teague will be in the NBA in 2012.

Lots of time between now and 2012 for PG's to rise in the rankings.

agreed 200%. Calipari didn't have to do anything with them. just like Sidney Lowe didn't have anything to do with JJ Hickson's development.

He does have a whole year to add weight. So that can happen.

And I remember there being stories about how hard he worked in high school. Don't know why that didn't necessarily translate to his first year here (or maybe it did...he just couldn't get over the mental aspect)...but maybe he can regain it at Kentucky.

I've got no ill will towards the kid. We got a one year gap filler in Johnson that solves the depth issue at point guard...so this loss doesn't hurt us too bad right now. And Gottfried looks to be doing well recruiting guards so far, so right now we're not missing Harrow. I wish him well in every game he doesn't play State (would love to see him light UNC up a couple years down the road).

All the haters need to grow the fuck up.

Kid averaged 9.3 points and 3.3 assists as a freshman, in only 23 minutes. That ain't too shabby. (and a 1.88 A/T, and 87% FTs).

^I'm not saying he had a horrible year...but it wasn't as good as expected. His shooting percentage was also pretty bad and his on-court demeanor left a lot to be desired.

I'm definitely not hating on the kid, but he could have played better this year. And with all the stories that were written about him before he got here, you would have thought he would have buried himself in the gym instead of transferring.

But again...best of luck to him.

I thought he was always gonna follow a path like Kemba Walker. Figure things out near the end of his second year. I was told he was much better and would be better quicker.

Pretty obvious though that Ryan doesn't have the head or balls to eventually become that. Hope the light switches on for him at some point.
