I want to think Harvey Hale was not part of this. I felt like he was a great kid. Aminu also seemed like a great kid. LD Williams seemed like the type of kid that would join in on whatever his friends were doing though. Chas MCFarland was a douche.

I met David Weaver and all the women were all over him. He could have had any of 30 women that day we floated down the river. It doesn't seem like he would need to rape anyone but then again you usually get those sex crazed athletes for rape (ie kobe). I also bet James Johnson was in it. He just seemed like a thug.

this is the first anyone has heard of this since it allegedly happened. no charges filed, and i imagine if she reported it then it would have made news around that time. it has been 2 years...doesn't this seem odd to anyone else? (going on the show to talk about if first)

This was probably the only instance in the last ten years of Wake Forest basketball players encountering someone with a worse defense

Also, two of the big four are always up. With wake down it gives us a chance to hop up if Duke or UNC slip. Depending on who goes pro, we have a good opportunity to step up in 2012-2013. We also will continue to get more of the "must stay in nc" recruits now that wake won't be getting them and unc/duke will be a logjam of 5 star recruits.

just like they've been. UNC is a logjam of 5 stars next season. think we're going to leapfrog them?

If we get good recruits and they get great recruits, we could still end up being a better team than them. Just like Pittsburgh has been a better team than UNC with low star recruits. UNC was bad year before last with all top recruits. If their big 3 leave early and TylerII graduates then they could be looking suspect again in 2012-2013. I'm not saying its likely, I'm just saying that they aren't guaranteed to be great just because they are recruiting well. Same goes for Duke.

I saw a mention somewhere(probably rumor) that there was an internal investigation right after it happened.

If true, they kept the lid on that one pretty tight and did a good job of getting rid of Dino ahead of the curve. I just don't see how authorities weren't involved if that were the case.

Yeah, they got swept by NCSU last season and now this.

If this were UNC the Attorney General would bend over backward to help the UNC bb team overcome all the adversity and lessen any punishments that were sure to might ensue.

i'll wait til thursday

allegations with no known proof other than this girl's word. no police report. and she's going on TV to tell her story. if she gives names, there is no way to prove it happened other than eyewitness accounts. even then, there will no longer be any viable physical evidence. i just don't get why she has waited so long.

She saw Teague's career peak with his solid series against Chicago and decided it was time to cash in.

Supposedly a letter from the girl's parents

1. They are fucking dumb for not filing criminal charges
2. Wake is gonna get lit up
3. Looks like Teague was a pretty good bet

That's supposedly the letter WFU's president mentions in this:

So from the letter Ernie posted above, one player went on to play in the NBA (Teague?) and the other was a team captain the following year...I can't find who their captains were in 2009-2010. Anyone know? Assuming the captain was a senior in 2009-2010, their seniors were: LD Williams, Ish Smith, David Weaver, Chas McFarland, Kyle Fowler, and Phaethon Bolton. Never heard of the last two...guessing they were walk-ons and probably not team captains.

That was a tongue-in-cheek post. Take a jab at how much State sucks and come up with a hypothetical UNC conspiracy/coverup. Get all the crazy taken care of in one post. Hence the 'this should cover all the bases.'

Back on topic...

In that image it says something to the effect of stuff like this being swept under the rug all the time. I find myself wondering if that's really true, if it's just an appeal for more sympathy, or if it was a statement made on the "emotional high" (if you will) of having been victimized. I've got to think that university sanctioned rape coverups are exceptions to the norm - even for athletes.

Right now I kind of side with that being tacked on by a lawyer and it translates to "we're going to ask for lots of money to send schools everywhere a message." Not trying to defend the school at all, just saying that I hope that this sort of thing isn't as common as they are trying to make it out to be.

the lone senior the year the alleged assault happened was Harvey Hale...now the email stated X player went ON to be captain his senior year...so that could mean the next year or so.

correct me if i'm wrong but doesn't ish smith play for the grizzlies? so there is teague or smith?

^good point. I actually misread the letter. This took place during the 08-09 season. The player went on to be a captain when he was a senior (meaning either 2009-2010, or 2010-2011) and another player went on to play in the NBA (could have been drafted after the 2009 season, or after the 2010 season). And Ish Smith, Aminu, and Teague are the NBAers from that roster. The lone senior captain this past season was Gary Clark. Can't find who the captains were in 2009-2010 but the seniors, like I posted above were: LD Williams, Ish Smith, David Weaver, Chas McFarland, Kyle Fowler, and Phaethon Bolton...and I'm guessing Fowler and Bolton were walk-ons and probably not captains.

What I don't get from the letter is how did the today show know to contact her for a story like this if no police charges were filed and basically nothing leaked out about this?

I'm sure the parents went to the Today Show. Probably lots of other media outlets, too -- the letter from the WF president seems to imply as much.

title IX lawsuits are a hot news item right now, they probably found the lawsuit when they went looking for a new scoop

that being said, waiting till one of them had an NBA salary was a good call.
