I want good hd but i also want cheap prices. all i watch is sports but i dont want any of the packages so i dont really want direct tv even though i know its probably the best. I want to know is there anything much cheaper with good quality. I've heard good things about fios and uverse (staying away from att) but are they just as much or cheaper? should i just go with cable? I'm pretty happy with roadrunner and cable hd. I don't want movies.

My dream is to be able to pay for just the 10 channels i watch.

unless you're going with a version home/cell phone and internet deal, I would stick to ComcastTimeWarner. There's not a difference that I can tell with my HD and ComcastTimeWarner is a lot cheaper.

If you want quality HD you shouldn't even have cable as a choice.

Changing to directv has been awesome. I will NEVER EVER go back to TWC.

I HATED DirectTV's DVR

HATED

HATED

HATED

HATED

It was slower than shit, I could fucking press a button on the remote and wait what seemed like years for the menu or guide to go to the next screen.

ATT's box is blazing fast and the picture quality is amazing....you pay for that shit though.

I have the HR 24 receiver and there is absolutely no lag or slowness to it. The same can be said for the HR25.

However, I've had personal experience with the HR20, 21, and 23 and they are garbage. The new ones are much better.

Too bad the fuckheads at DTV would not send me a new model DVR, they kept repeating how my DVR was working like its supposed to....a few days later the ATT guys came door to door.
