This thread is for both curling & straightening irons (sometimes both). What do you ladies use?
I use this one to create waves/curls:
Chi Limited Edition Breast Cancer Iron

To straighten, I actually use a large barrel curling iron @ 360 degrees.
I flip my head down and "curl" by section, flip it back up and smooth the top with the curling iron. For me, my hair isn't too curly naturally just wavy, thick and fine. Doing it just way make it easier, faster, and gives my hair lots of body and flip. 5/25/2011 9:32:22 PM |

I'm really lazy when it comes to straightening my hair. I only do the very outside layer and call it a day. I probably should invest in a more expensive one, instead of the the cheap walmart one I have. Also, how bad are the expensive ones on your hair? I'm trying to avoid split ends.. 5/25/2011 9:37:20 PM |

the expensive ones actually don't hurt your hair very much.. my ultra chi works a LOT better than my cheap wal-mart one I had 5/25/2011 9:38:41 PM |

I use salon-quality Ciroc irons ... Typically 400 bucks, but I work hair shows so I get special discounts. 5/25/2011 9:50:23 PM |

Chi isn't necessarily the best.
What do they use at hair salons? Their 1/2" to 1" irons are BOMB.. as soon as they put it to your hair.. steam immediately lets off and it's sooo smooth. I assume since it works immediately, you don't have to expose your hair to the heat for so long so it's actually better than the ones I expose my strands to forever. 5/25/2011 9:51:50 PM |

Salon quality is best. Ciroc is amazing. I had a chi, but my Ciroc leaves me with long-term straight hair. 5/25/2011 9:54:00 PM |

When I was a boy I used to pretend that my sisters' crimping irons were gators and the straightening irons were some other type of creature
they were not amused 5/25/2011 9:56:39 PM |
