its gonna be a slow paced kind of tactical affair, i loe those kinds of fights. both guys have ALOT to consider.

also, my attempt at matchmaker is blown, as Nogueirs is fighting Mir. waste of time. Mir is going to beat him again, no credit to Mir however, Nog is just slowing down badly, despite the Schaub win. My opinion is that Nog was on his way to being TKO'd and fortunately he caught Schaub against the fence. Scaub was landing at will and Mir hits like a man, plus nog isnt taking mir down.

im not a fan of this rematch, much rather see nog v.s. Kongo (i think hell beat mitrione)

btw...Diaz is a fucking idiot. Nonetheless i dont feel the title shot should be revoked like that, but what the hell else could we expect honestly, guess you cant let a guy skip multiple pressers, its unfortunate. I cant believe this shit.

Pretty good card last night.

As everyone figured Rampage barely laid a hand on Jon Jones.

That Rothwell-Hunt fight was awesome. Those guys had to get fight of the night. I've never seen two guys that gassed before. Note to UFC maybe don't put 40 year old dudes that havent fought in six years in Denver altitude in his first fight back. Actually, strike that. Put more of them in altitude so we can see that kind of fight again.

Nate Diaz wrecked some shit.

Hated to see Ring lose but Boestch just made him look like an amateur. What's his face from TUF looked really fucking good with his strikes.

The 2nd facebook prelim with those featherweights was a great fight too.

Also, Matt Hughes has really improved his standup. I thought he'd get destroyed but he actually got some good shots in.

All respect to Rashad, but I think Jones might be the next Anderson Silva; I just don't see anyone stopping him for a long time.

fuckin jon jones man, its gonna be a tough one for rashad to get that belt back but fuck it man hes got this

evans will be able to get inside a hell of a lot better than rampage, but rampages head movement was fantastic, jones could hardly land a punch (leg kicks are entirely different) Im proud of rampage, he wasnt scared he went out there and did tried to do the only thing that would let him win the fight, take jones head off and lord knows he did his best

Rashad is gonna have to be technical getting inside jones range, and then go berserk while hes in it, not try t be technical and precise, GO CRAZY, wing bombs...chase him throwin haymakers, because i noticed jon jones doesnt actually counter much, he leaves the strike zone to reestablish his distance, where he is near invincible at. going wild will get jon jones on the run and being as fast as rashad is can lead to landed strikes and a takedown opportunity. Rashad neednt waste too much time forcing takedowns unless he gets hurt. Jon Jones gas is much much better than i thought it was

I didnt watch the fight with the volume up, what did matt hughes say after the koscheck loss? I love matt hughes man, he got the raw deal with that late replacement i didnt like it one bit the diego fight would have been much more winnable for him.

I think El cucuy is going to be one of the better tuf winners, i really enjoy watching him fight, and hes still raw he leaves alot of openings defensively but with his crazy wrestling and scrambles and that offensive striking, and the way he is just plain mean man, he wants to KILL his opponent. The way he attacked aaron riley was so measured and calculate, he didnt rush in and get all clenched up or countered, he maintained the outside strike zone and picked powerful blows to the head and body (which is exactly what Rashad doesnt need to do inside JJ's reach btw), aaron riley was a man to survive to the end of the round

haha true, btw i think mark hunt is done in the UFC given how dana talked to him, Rothwell is just not panning out like i thought he would, its a shame, hunt should have been a very winnable fight for him, ill not hold the loss to cain against him.

did anyone catch the bellator card on MTV2 saturday? o my god Joe Warren got fuckin crushed.

From what I gather Hunt kept solidly connecting on Rothwell in the 3rd and Rothwell was done but Rothwell never went down. Hunt actually worked on an armbar in the 2nd round (one judge gave the 2nd to him 10-8) and Joe Rogan was shouting instructions in his commentary to Hunt on locking in the armbar.

I think Nate should never leave 155 again, hes too good a fighter to just be tossed around because just because hes built wrong at 170.

i heard the TUF season premeire is badass but i havent watched it yet on DVR.

The Hunt-Rothwell fight was awesomely bad, i wish every card had one of those. Very appealing to the casual fan too.

Also, yes Diaz destroyed Gomi. It was basically an assault.

I loved the TUF premier. Really looking forward to tonight.

This fight between Jones and Rashad may be the first time I ever pull for Rashad. I've never liked his antics but he's really cooled it out a lot. Not to mention Jones' lame comments at the end of the PPV. Something to the effect of "this is twice now that you've ruined my special night."

Special night? This isn't the fucking prom. I hope Rashad puts him down.

You don't really believe that stuff do you? Those antics are being done to hype the fight.

Rashad and Jones are former training partners and friends in real life.

haha o nooo they are not friends at all, the hype is being played publically at the direction of dana (hence evans being called to enter the cage) but these two have a big history, more importantly the camp that helped build Rashad and how Rashad built that camp

its a legit rivalry, but everyone knows public jousting will build interest and sell the fight. Which i dont think it needs

The real rivalry is not so much rashad v. jones its rashad v. jackson and how much of a snake the guy is rashad doesnt blame jones for much other than being an idiot and easily manipulated. They werent ever really friends just goood training partners for eachother. but you cant promote beef between guys that cant fight eachother

Really enjoyed the card tonight for 136. The fight between garcia & phan was fucking awesome. Sonnen destroyed Stann but definitely did a great job of promoting the upcoming fight against Silva. Dude pulled some WWF shit claiming he'll retire from fighting if he loses. Definitely a good fight between Aldo & Florian and mad love to Frankie Edgar. That dude is a beast. Anyone who beats BJ Penn twice and then goes on to fight a guy who's never lost and be out on his feet (twice now) in the first round just to battle back and win, deserves the damn belt.

hate that i missed that card all the fights sounded awesome. cant believe lauzon took out guillard in 47 seconds he is a beast.

Figured Sonnen would handle stann, almost bet it but he was -180 and on such a long layoff.

Sounds like another great match between Edgar/Maynard both of those guys are fucking good.

Was interested in Florian / Aldo, but if Florian couldnt get that fight to the ground he was totally screwed.

I think that spinning kick was the best KO I've ever seen. Certainly an early candidate for KO of the year.

That was a pretty stellar card all around. It seems that whenever there is sort of a weak card in terms of lack of really big names, it is always made up for by having great fights.

Silva decision was totally right IMO. Even as the fight was still going on, my buddy and I were both talking about how many times he was hitting the guy in the back of the head. Then we couldn't believe the ref didn't step in before he did. Although I expected him to deduct a point rather than call it. Once he called it, the judges couldn't give him the win.

i was a terry etim fan

did you watch the carvalho v.s. arantes

I dont know i havent been as impressed with two fighters in a loong time as I was with those two guys. They both looked like professional fighters that belonged in the UFC and knew how to fight

it sounds retarded but think about the last time you were legitimately impressed with both fighters not in some damn mismatch (palhares v.s. massenzio who has a history of ACL injuries and poor submission D..BS fight that was pointless) to promote one fighter over he other

these two guys were good everywhere, calculated, not wild, calm, and dangerous. check it out it was like a chess match and they were really capitalizing on minute mistakes and miscalculations.

sorry for the long windedness, but I havent been that impressed by an undercard fight in a long time. Hope to see them both on a card soon.

I personally wasn't impressed by the card.

Wiedman winning on less than 2 weeks notice against Maia was impressive, although they both disappointed me with their conditioning in the end.

I am not a judge - simply a casual fan, but I thought Bisping beat Sonnin. And regardless of the outcome, Sonnin doesn't appear to be very technically sound. He is one crazy/arrogant idiot - that was some WWE shit he pulled last night after the match.

Rashad never ceases to amaze me how he picks apart people who look like they could dismantle him. Davis looks like a beast, but Rashad completely dominated him. I was impressed with Davis's heart, and I really think he has a pretty bright future ahead of him.

that was the worsr card i've ever seen. Even the prelims were boring.

UFC has got to put interesting fights on the Fox events instead of boring fights.

They need to put unimportant fights on the cards and say "Look here's your $5k appearance fee, if you guys put on a show you get $25k bonus. If not, there's your $5k."

They need fighters like Wanderlei out there who aren't scared to lose.

Sonnen is an unbelievable and I think he's got a good shot to beat Anderson Silva, but watching a "must win" match isn't going to make for as good of tv for casual fans as if they put fun fights on instead.

the fights were interesting

I thought the action was great, even weidman v.s. maia but that was the worst fight because they both gassed (weidman shouldnt be faulted, but for a former contender in Maia that was inexcusable)

Chael v.s. Bisping was a great freakin fight, the styles i think threw both fighters off and it became a three round whirlwind

Rashad put on a clinic once again against a bigger fighter that was supposed to be a better wrestler. I think Rashad gave jon jones a lot to think about. Unlike Machida, rashad was parryin strikes and checking kicks without having to dive out of landing range, he stayed in the pocket and countered, easily caugh kicks and used them for takedowns.

regardless of what people say, jon jones is not the greatest striker his speed is on par with davis, he just has better timing and is more diverse, his hands are trash compared to rashad

and dare i say Jon jones gets rashad in a scrambling situation, i think rashad makes him look a fool with very technical wrestling plus i dont think jon jones has nearly the core strength to escape that Phil Davis does

anyone who says those fights sucked can kick rocks, dont watch anymore. Watching rashad fight looked like you were watching a legitimate contender and a complete representation of MMA, Bisping Chael was a barn burner and a decent representation of MMA as well

i dont care to see a finish in fights at all, i want to see as much action as possible and a good showing by all competitors. Id rather see last night than JDS/Cain again. That fight told us absolutely nothing and was a waste of a broadcast

lol, we need guys like wanderlei to come out looking 60 years old, swinging like a windmill to get face planted by the first punch the other guy lands? You can see that at a regional show around raleigh, I want to see dynamic fights in the UFC

the fights may not have been the most exciting to you, but you cannot say the fights werent interesting. even the original line up of Chael v.s. Munoz and Bisping v.s. maia was just as interesting, and they could have just as easily been the exact same kinda fights. you never know. injuries are a bitch the UFC did a good job changing up the card and maintaining relevant fights.

I like "fun" fights (beltran/lavar johnson) added to a PPV mixed with the relevant fights, but when youve only got three fights and two hours of broadcast knowing a lot of it is analysts and guest commentators + plus fighter promos then I want three damn relevant fights that can shake up the upper division and create compelling match ups once the sow ends

the problem is they are trying to pick up new audiences and they aren't going to do it with boring ass figbhts.

I had like 12-14 people over for the state game/ufc and most of them left to go downtown before i could even show the Rashad fight because they were so bored with the Maia snoozefest.

the half of us that stayed for the rashad fight all wished we hadn't wasted our time.
