DC has to be the most politically driven, and career driven city I've ever lived in. I can't tell you how many conversations I've had straight up started with "what do you think about XXXpolitical candidateXXX" or "what do you do?"

Well yeah, politics should be put waaaaay on the backburner. It's not exactly a charming subject, regardless of whether or not you agree with each other.

Even if they bring it up, I'll try to be very vague and evasive, and change the topic as soon as possible. I say this as though I have a great deal of experience. Which I don't.
