The frame gets in the way of using a crescent wrench and socket or 2 crescent wrenches 6/26/2011 12:17:26 PM |

I put an 8 foot long pipe on mine and couldn't crack it, but it had been sitting for a few decades. A good impact wrench spun it right off. Took two of us to hold the bike down though. 6/26/2011 9:23:48 PM |

Call me stupid but I am thinking about it. If its like a crank bolt on a car and it just turns the motor over it will work. If the bold just won't turn then heat the bitch up. I've never had a bolt whoop my ass so this won't be a problem. 6/27/2011 2:38:29 PM |

if you turn the engine over while pulling the other way, you'll just tighten it more, assuming right hand threads, right? 6/27/2011 3:08:02 PM |

that's the thing. different years have different threads. It spins freely so I can't tell which way to turn it 6/27/2011 3:20:18 PM |

I'd ask a mechanic how they get it off 6/27/2011 3:26:06 PM |

I'd imagine that in the absence of a locking mechanism, it's threaded such that the engine torque applied to it tightens it. 6/27/2011 3:31:40 PM |
