If I was to play any MMO......it would be this or WoW.

The upcoming starwars one might turn out well. And if they make a Mass Effect based one.

Its just different. You can really lose your character. Enormous learning curve.

I tried to play this game back when it came out, and it was cool and I liked dicking around, and it sure does look good in game, but it's super tedious and basically ended up being playing spreadsheet fun time for PC.

But then again I think I've had my switch turned off for MMOs or something.

^ CVA is back open for business with providence. Other than that, goons are trying to establish a "freeport" in delve, but youre more than likely to get shot there.

Which one requires more of a time commitment? I know the learning curve is steeper in EvE but after you've got the basics down how much of your life does it take over?

I've periodically considered playing EvE but trying to deliver in it, when i worked for the gold farmers, was a pain in the butt.

^^ Eve takes whatever amount of time you want to dedicate to it. Advancement is all based on account age, not time played. The time you play matters only for making money and social interaction.

I helped a guy last night in local chat figure out how to install mp3 codecs on his Meego powered netbook. He gave me more ISK than I usually pull in from two evenings of level-4 mission running in thanks. That was cool.
