I, too, use newegg.com

I'm not really a gamer, but have always been interested in picking up a console for some light fun. Is this a good deal/console? Good games (FPS/war games, racing, smashbros type stuff)?

It's an awesome deal.

I have both an Xbox360 and PS3 and there is no comparison in my book. For the beginner, the 360 offers so much more.

The Netflix client is much better, the online portal is 100 times more user friendly, and tons of content, etc.

Plus Kinect is a big hit when you have people over.

hmm, intriguing. would the 4GB not be a big deal (compared to the 250GB)? I'd like to be able to store some games/movies on the device; though from what i've read, I can use up to 2 16GB flash drives for this; as long as I don't want to play halo online (never even played it... not sure that i even would).

4GB should be a good starting point but if you start playing a lot of games, you will need more space. You can use external media storage devices (HDDs, flash drives, etc) to play movies, music, etc. If you want, you could use the $100 gift card towards the 250GB HDD.

buy an ad.

i get the newsletters, and i'm sure anyone else that cares, get's the newsletters... not sure why we need a thread, you typically have to subscribe to their newsletters to be able to even use the coupon code anyhow. this seems redundant and not needed.

Newegg? Never heard of it. I buy all my computer gear off Amazon and eBay and see no reason to change.

Best site to use when building a computer.

Shopping around everywhere you might save a total of 40-50 bucks on your whole system but Newegg usually has the best prices and it's so worth it to have everything on one recipt and shipped in one box.

The computers I built in 2005ish and 2008ish were almost exclusively parts ordered off newegg.

The computer I built last week (while it was a smaller build) only had 2 parts ordered from newegg. The rest was amazon and Fry's.

But yes, newegg is awesome and has the best service.

I'm about as likely to buy something from a place called "New Egg" as I am "Zip Zoom Fly". What's with all of these shady tech sites popping up lately? I'd rather stick to Geek Squad at least they know exactly what I need when I ask for stuff like Video Graphics Accelerators and TXH qualified monster cables.

They even have cool lights to put on the side of your modem/brain so it looks sick at night and when u take it to parties.

I've built 4 systems in the past year with promos from Newegg. I saved anywhere from 20-30% on each system

Walmart charges tax
Best Buy charges tax and shipping
Amazon charges tax

I lol at all of the trolling and lol even more that some people actually believe the trolls.

And there's only unnecessary trolling because it is required for stupid threads such as these. You should add "Be the first of your friends to facebook this" link in your OP.

FYI, we get the same emails, newsletters and promo's as you. We also visit the same deal websites such as slickdeals or fatwallet as well. Just don't go post a thread in the tech talk section like a douche with no real info in the title and expect everyone here to have not heard about this new "newegg" thingy...

Its only been out for like 10 years.

You're technically supposed to pay a use tax on items you purchase from out of state vendors that do not collect sales tax on your behalf.

Exhibit A:

Yes, you have made a true fact about newegg, but you missed the point.

This is Tdub.
This is TT section.
There are nerds here.
I'm sure all of us has heard of this newegg thing you mentioned.

Maybe if you labeled the title better than just "newegg.com" and actually didn't sound like a twat sales pitch who jizzed himself or something, this thread could have served its purpose.

Also, stop trying to defend the thread. That just gets more trolls. For the record, we all just hit up SD or FW for deals. Not tdub. We just come here to talk about our future rigs that we want to build when we all finally get money or some stupid new tech news that someone here re-posts from dailytech.
