Going to be in town for a dinner this weekend and was looking for a good place to get some more exotic meats, ie venison, ostrich and bison.

Not looking to break the bank, but I'm willing to pay for quality.

I'm just worried about my timing window with the Farmer's market. Their selection seems to be hit or miss.

I love the Meat House.

My parents go there all the time

4th of July cookout all the meats came from the Meat House

I agree it can be kind of pricey which is why I let my parents buy the food and I just eat it

What they have is good but their selection is fairly limited. You'd have better luck finding stuff like ostrich and rabbit at one of the farmers market vendors.

^ If they do they don't mention it anywhere in their store, which would lead me to believe they do not since that's a marketing boon these days.

You know, they say ostrich has less fat, but you eat more of it.

If you weren't on a time constraint I would recommend Coon Rock Farm. They have some great meat.

Would goat fit your bill? If so you could go to one of the many halal butchers around NCSU and pick some up.

Are you talking about the tienda near that ghetto looking thrift shop on S. Saunders that was hit by the tornado?

I can get a hell of a good look at a T-Bone steak by sticking my head up a bull's ass, but I'd rather take the butcher's word for it.

Tried some of their stuff when they set their tent up outside Shitty Limits at the Jason Aldean Tornado Relief Concert. It was good. I enjoyed the free samples
