No age requirements and they will get mentored by the judges

The process is:

Audition in front of the judges (what's happening now)
Bootcamp
Judges Houses (judges eventually pick their fav acts for the live show)
Live Show (we get to vote)

They will really work hard to make these folks a star...Idol didn't really help them grow as much as XFactor will.

I was wondering why the fuck rachel crow was still on the show, now i get it. she nailed the soul of that song i actually got chills...the kinda chills i get listening to joss stone. I doubt she can keep it up though but that was a great performance.

theres definitely two levels of talent

the ones that will legitimately sell well due to actual talent, and those that dont need to be on the show at all and have no business getting any deal

the groups are cheesy and the senior division will be largely irrelevant, they wont sell, nor will they actually be in the business for another two years even.

but the good acts are really good, theres just a lot of filler on the show. Kinda like a Jay-Z album

Realistically, the best he could hope for is just exposure. He had no real shot of winning in the first place. I really like the kid, and he's got heaps of talent and personality, but this is a singing competition and he's not a singer.

It's just up until now, he was really likable and humble, and not at all bratty, childish or thug-like (all things you could easily expect from a kid his age and with his background) But last night, he showed his ass, and probably lost tons of potential fans. Of course, you can argue that he probably doesn't want middle aged soccer moms as the bulk of his fanbase, so it's not a huge loss, but it just makes me wonder why he decided to try out in the first place. It just brings up questions I've had from the start about him and what he was trying to accomplish. I hope he does well with his career, but I do think his age, and lack of maturity showed a whole lot last night.

the girl group is horrendous. the brunette of the group is the only one who can sing well and she has an R&B voice and they have her singing pop country crap.

Leroy Bell is a good guy and supposedly an accomplished song writer. I just dont think he sounds that great

The Josh guy did one of the best Wild Horses covers ive ever heard. The guy is solid. Could be the modern day Bob Seger.

Astro was great as usual

Chris Rene will make money off his music after this show, but he wont win unless he tries to adapt every song he does going forward into the sing-rapping he does in the Young Homie song

Melanie is solid as usual

Rachel Crow solid as usual

Drew is gimmicky and she sings everything exactly the same, so I cant see her winning it

Marcus was good, but he's been downhill since he sang All My Life to Rihanna
