Being a motor-head, I'll watch Top Gear US for the car reviews. Their reviews seem more genuine and objective, instead of a bunch of snaky quips written before the car is delivered. They don't end every single review with "that was the best/worst ____ ever".
UK series still has them completely beat when it comes to fun fluff. 7/25/2011 9:45:51 AM |

How the fuck did Rutledge Wood end up on this show? The guy is a complete moron. And Adam Ferrara seems to enjoy acting like a big pussy that can't handle being outside of NYC.
The first episode of season 2 seemed like a complete waste to me. 7/26/2011 4:37:30 PM |

Tanner Foust is the only legitimate person on this show, but even he can't support the series on his own.
I watched most of the first season, and every show was laughable. Particularly due to Rutledge. It seemed halfway through Season 1 the producers realized how obnoxious he is and started having Adam and Tanner poke fun at him more and more - something I'd consider the only improvement in the show as the season progressed.
The challenges were always poorly executed; however, some of the more serious segments were interesting enough to make up for it. Also, there were some decent celebrity test-track drivers that appeared as well.
I'd be interested to see / hear how they've attempted to improve for Season 2 though.
