Some people are reporting that it's up and running in spots around the city. Can anybody confirm this? I have an LTE MiFi at home, so I can't test it right now. The official rollout date for LTE in Raleigh was set for the 21st.

Not to my knowledge. There's 4G mobile hotspots.

i know that dl's will be throttled once you reach the cap but is there any reason to assume the same for uploads?

Thunderbolt is practically useless for a days work on 4G, battery life is atrocious.

I'm around enough wifi hotspots to trigger the phone to disable 4G thankfully...

The 2 people I know with a 4G/LTE device disable 4G.... until they need it as a hotspot or tethering. Then the bonus speed is worth whatever battery cost.

The thunderbolt has horrid battery life.

I always recommend to people who complain about it that they buy the extended battery....then they are like "why should I have to buy a new battery?" I want to then be like, well you don't HAVE to...but until you do you are gonna have horrid battery life.

If you are looking for a 4g phone on Verizon the droid Charge is where its at.

Well, I can confirm that my LTE MiFi is on 4G and downloading on average about 16 Mbps . Upload is around 12 Mbps. It definitely beats any mobile service I have had before!

Unless you actually want software updates in which case anything Samsung is a joke if you live in the US. If it were a Galaxy SII variant, maybe but old hardware and old os. No thanks.

i get a full day of regular use out of my thunderbolt, and that's all i "need"...i'm running barnacle right now with 4G LTE to make a mobile hotspot, but i keep it plugged in since i'm on the internet and don't need it for anything at the moment

the LTE on/off app is perfect for my purposes...i don't really need LTE right now unless i'm using it as a hotspot

6.5 Mb down 1Mb up on the Smithfield side of rural Clayton on a MiFi hotspot... not too bad.
