So, I just bought a '10 Honda Civic. In my old car, my buddy helped me hard wire my radar detector (Pdf of Manual associated with my model).

I'm not sure what would be the best fuse to hook my radar detector up to so that it'll automatically turn on when I start the car and not blow any fuses. I use my cigarette lighter usually for a gps so that one is a no go since I would usually always blow that fuse with both plugged in.

Here are the list of indoor fuses in the 2010 Civic.

Interior Fuse Box
1. 7.5A - Power Window
2. 15A - Fuel Pump
3. 10A - IGI ACG
4. 7.5A - ABS
5. 15A - Audio Amp
6. 20A - Front Fog Lights
7. -- Not Used
8. -- Not Used
9. 7.5A - ODS
10. 7.5A - Meter
11. 10A - SRS
12. 10A - Right Headlights High Beam
13. 10A - Left Headlight High Beam
14. 7.5A - Small Lights (Int)
15. 7.5A - Small Lights (Ext)
16. 10A - Right Headlight Low Beam
17. 10A - Left Headlight Low Beam
18. 20A - Headlight High Beam Main
19. 15A - Small Lights Main
20. -- Not Used
21. 20A - Headlight Low Beam Main

24. 20A - Moonroof
25. 20A - Door Lock
26. 20A - Dr Power Window
27. 20A - HAC Option
28. 15A - Rear Accessory
29. 15A - Accessory
30. 20A - Fr Pass Power Window
31. -- Not Used
32. -- Not Used
33. -- Not Used

35. 7.5A - Accessory, Radio

Any help would be great!

I cant imagine a radar using more than 3A. the V1 has a 3A fuse in its charger.

I always use some sort of radio fuse. I would try #35 or 28/29 depending on what they go to. hard to tell what "accessory" means in this case.

^Im sure you always go the speed limit and never break the law.

He didnt fucking ask you if he should get a radar detector. He had a specific question about installing it. Quit being a judgmental douche.

When i hardwired my V1 into my accord, i tapped into the radio wire. Put on an inline fuse and have not had a problem with it in the last 5 years i have had it.
