Surprised there isnt a thread for this already, but free agency is starting to rev up

here are a couple pieces of news that I've heard about already -

Quote :
"ESPN's John Clayton believes free agent QB Tarvaris Jackson agree to terms with the Seahawks by Tuesday night.
"Everything I heard today, he's on a fast-track waiting for that offer and he's willing to take it," said Clayton. Per NFL Network's Jason LaCanfora, it's "increasingly unlikely" that Matt Hasselbeck will return to Seattle. "

Quote :
"NFL Network's Jason LaCanfora reports the Seahawks are "making a play" for free agent WR Sidney Rice.
Seattle has deep pockets and a fairly desperate need for a legit No. 1 receiver. They also have an in with Rice, as new offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell coached him the past few years. From a fantasy perspective, it's hard to envision a scenario worse than catching passes from Tarvaris Jackson in Seattle. "

Quote :
"Both ESPN Dallas' Calvin Watkins and NFL Network's Mike Lombardi report that the Cowboys will release Roy Williams.
It's time for Dez Bryant to spread his wings. Williams' play didn't warrant his $5.1 base salary, and the Cowboys are able to take a massive $12 million salary cap hit thanks to the new soft cap. Now Bryant is the undisputed No. 2 receiver and the talented Kevin Ogletree will get a chance as the No. 3. Williams is only 29 and will garner interest, quite possibly under Mike Martz in Chicago. Williams made his only Pro Bowl appearance in Martz's Lions offense in 2006. "

Carson Palmer wont be re-signed by the Bengals and is considered retired

Figured we would hold onto that bum for one more year, just so we didn't have to take a cap hit. Plus we need to re-sign Free and get some help at Safety through FA... I'm guessing Barber is as good as gone too.

The over/under on both championship games and the Super Bowl would be pushing 70

Haynesworth to the Pats for a 5th rounder

That's kinda scary knowing that the hoodie is going to get the most out of him. Add Wilfork beside him and it becomes ridiculous.

^^^ Arizona would be a good place for a Dallas RB past his prime.

Quote :
"Broncos signed No. 67 overall pick Nate Irving to a four-year contract.
Working in Irving's favor is his athleticism and the weakness in the middle of the Broncos' defense. Working against him is John Fox's age-old refusal to start rookies. Fox did do it with Jon Beason in Carolina, which makes us think he may move Irving along quickly as well. The former North Carolina State star and Bill Parcells favorite will battle veteran Joe Mays. crazy risk/reward moves, Ochocinco and Haynesworth to the Patriots. Aaron Hernandez will have to give up his jersey number unless ochocinco wants to get another name change

also Vince Young wants to go to Philly and the Bears are looking at signing Roy Williams

Saints re-signed Lance Moore yesterday, and Jermon Bushrod, Scott Shanle, and Chris Reis today

That's three starters plus a special teams ace, although I really really hope Shanle isn't starting in 2011

Roy Williams to Chicago

Typically a place where receivers go to die, but since he's already been dead for a long time, maybe it will bring him back to life

Fuck you Jerry Jones. I'm rooting against you every game next year.

Also, it makes zero sense for the Cowboys to go out and spend a fortune on Asomugha... they have no where near the supporting cast the Jets do and they have less money to invest on the REST of their team.

So I've been kind of obsessing about this all day and now I'm reading the only two teams that were "all in" for him and now twitter is saying NEITHER is going to land him. So odd...

I have a hard time believing they can sign Nnamdi to a huge deal and still have leverage to pay Desean what he wants...
