Anybody have a Amazon Prime account and tried out the VOD service they offer? At first glance, it doesn't look like there are tons of stuff on there, and most everything I'm interested in is already on Netflix. I got a free one month trial the other day, is there anything I should check out before it expires? I don't do a ton of shopping from Amazon, is the VOD service worth the $79/year by itself? 8/5/2011 7:45:00 PM |

It doesn't look like they have nearly as much stuff as Netflix. But most of the stuff they do have is already on Netflix (which I already get for free). Like I was gonna start off the thread with a couple of recommendations of my own, but the 2-3 things I looked at were already on Netflix, I just didn't know it. 8/5/2011 7:53:10 PM |

i think the amazon prime is slightly overpriced. for people who do a SHIT TON of ordering it is good. but i order a lot from them and it still isn't enough to justify the price. plus, with the movie selection not as vast (i too noticed that) it def didn't seem worth it.
most of what i would order off amazon i can find off overstock.com which USED to have 2.99 flat rate shipping (i don't know if they do anymore)
BUT
they now have a 19.95 a year "club rewards" deal which = free shipping and reward points. which is a better option for me since i can find the same type of things i order on amazon on overstock (i'm not a person that purchases dvds and shit from amazon. i buy like, bedding, dog food, cups, dishes, random shit).
not to hijack your thread but it was quasi on topic and people might be interested. no VOD, obviously 8/5/2011 7:59:11 PM |

So what you're saying is...

I'm sure $79/year is a good deal for you if they have a copious amount of gay man sex that Netflix fortunately lacks. 8/5/2011 8:12:11 PM |
