Season 2 is about to start in the US on PBS this coming Sunday, 9 pm: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/masterpiece/sherlock/index.html

though the episodes are already online from people taping them in the UK: they were shown there in January

so I've seen them, but I'll probably watch them again via PBS anyhow

[Edited on May 3, 2012 at 8:28 AM. Reason : it's fun to see how they rework the stories for a modern audience]

bumping this since i just started watching over the weekend and enjoying it a lot more than elementary.

both shows are good, but this one feels darker and more fitting with murders taking place.

I liked that they addressed the time gap, and it was clever/funny to include all of the different theories of how he did it.

BBC does have it online

And there are some expat plugins you could use with Chrome if you wanted to watch it to trick BBC into thinking you're in the UK...

Or download it illegally

I wasn't a huge fan of the first episode back, they did a lot of "lets look at his thoughts", and I was afraid they may have lost it during their time away.

I liked John's wedding though, very good episode that was very funny and felt like they knew exactly where they wanted to be with the show.

The 3rd series was really different from the first 2 - feel like you have to view the series as a whole instead of as individual episodes. Different from the first 2 series, but still very good. Felt like the last episode was definitely the best.

Just watched it last night. Great episode, it certainly had a large number of twists. I'd say each of season 3 episodes was an improvement to the last.

Although I think the first episode was worse than they left it at the end of season 2

idk about all the rave reviews on here. I just finish the 1st season online and it's a little tough for me. Sherlock's "know it all mentality" is kind of a turn off. Kinda make me think..."well if he knows everything and knows where to look, then what's the point? he's going to solve any puzzle anyways."

stick with it. It's witty. John and Mycroft are humanizing, and a lot of the show's humor comes from Sherlock's interactions with the other characters

^^Isn't Sherlock Holmes (the character in general) always going to solve it? That's the character. Since the late 1800s when the character was created he's been a detective with way above average skills of deduction. The reader/viewer knows he's going to "solve the puzzle" as you put it. The story and enjoyment is in the path to solving the case and the case itself.

I agree that this particular portrayal comes across as a "know it all". But I think the show is very aware of that and acknowledges it with the series.

If you really don't like it because you know he's always going to solve the case.. well, that's the nature of it so I'd say go ahead and stop watching. If it's just the character being a know it all, I'd say watch the second series and see if it still bothers you.

^yeah...its always been HOW he solves it that is the attraction more so than IF he solves it. Not sure why anyone would go into a show about Sherlock Holmes expecting anything different...

so LastinACC doesn't like 99% of all mystery/detective shows. The point of any of them is that they usually solve the case by the end of the episode.

Calm down nah. I'm just saying it doesn't appeal to me compare to other detective shows/stories. It's like am watching a robot.

Just finished season 3. Enjoyed the first 2 seasons more overall. Season 3 was more humorous and as others have said, got better with each episode. The Mary thing really threw me for a loop. Great show, Benedict cumberbatch is perfect for this role.

The best part of this was that we just had it sitting on PBS because nothing else was on that was interesting. My wife noticed the "Coming up Next" trailer thing and was like OMFG Sherlock! Totally unplanned but made for a great evening.
