Now that Cracker Barrel has ended their promotion, where can I get Texas-style beef brisket?
No eastern style, lexington style, etc. Please help a man who wants to control the cow population (over 950 million living in the US and growing!) 8/10/2011 7:09:54 PM |

I've never had good brisket in Raleigh, mostly because I've only ever ordered it like twice--I can never resist the pork. 8/10/2011 7:11:42 PM |

I also can vouch for Smokey's.

That joint bbq on Hillsborough across from the library way back in 2001 or so had a decent one. Shit was kinda pricey though. 8/10/2011 8:22:47 PM |

Dickey's on Davie St is decent for around here. Never been very impressed with Q Shack or Red, Hot, and Blah. There used to be a place 10 years or so ago above Starbucks on Hillsborough St. (the cursed restaurant location) that was very good. I think it was called Blue Moon. 8/11/2011 6:51:15 AM |

blinkos on glenwood is very good but very hit or miss dickeys in cary and whatever the place on tryon is called that's in the shiny diner building, although they're catering only now 8/11/2011 8:59:13 AM |

There was a Q-shack across from the library (across Horne St from the Starbucks)...but that wasn't 2001, more like 05-06. Where was that Texas BBQ place in 2001?

You can get a good look at a Tbone steak by sticking your head up a cow's ass, but I'd rather take the butcher's word for it. 8/11/2011 9:17:05 AM |
