I feel like none of them ever do. I've watched maybe two or three of these seasons over the years and I've seen one or two chefs that I would actually pay a respectable salary to run my kitchen. And it would be a very simple kitchen. These cooks are not very impressive.

The "amateur" chefs on Masterchef are far more skilled than the "professionals" on Hell's Kitchen now.

This shit's like Top Model. They're either stopped getting decent people trying out or they're actively recruiting to increase the drama. There's no way in hell any one of those people would have a chance at running a nice restaurant in the real world.

It's obvious what this show is going for. Drama over culinary prowess. However it remains a guilty pleasure of mine. The formula obviously still works because it's in its 9th season. It's the only "reality" show I want to watch.

i like masterchef alot, i actually masterchef is an excellent show, especially the elimination pressure tests. that and whitney is such a dollface shes a good representative first winner

if you watched hells kitchen for any reason other than hearing gordon get pissed off and kick everyone out of the kitchen then i dont know what to say

when carrie and elise were up there and he sent out jamie instead, that called more than ever for the "some decisions influenced by producers" lingo. of course, this show is 100% manufactured, but this season's eliminations have been pretty blatantly arranged to keep this dumb feud going.

it really depends. You can look back at the past winners of HK to see what positions they got. Each season has a winner, with the prize being head chef at one of Ramsay's establishments but if he doesn't think the winner is cut out for it they'll be given something else. A few have been sous, assistant sous, some have even worked for a month and been let go.

I told my wife is Elise wins, I wont be watching this show anymore, because any respect I have for Gordon will be gone. No one will want to work for/with her. She is a complete and total bitch. She is the worst kind of person.

What I wouldnt mind, although it would be very stressful and nerve racking, is to see her in the final two and to lose. But I've been surprised before when Holli beat Jay.

I don't get first off how she is "hot." I mean she isn't ugly, I'd go as far as attractive, but not hot and any ideas of attractiveness have disappeared with her personality which is complete shit. Every time she does one of those cut away interviews I end up being embarrassed for her cause she acts like such a child/brat/bitch/idiot/liar.

The past seasons have all sort of blended together but I always felt by this point the people that were left were all pretty competent chefs and you were watching people improve and compete for something you believed they could handle(running a kitchen), these people aren't much further ahead than the final people from Master Chef. I mean how can you not be thrown off the show if you can't cook fish by this point? If I remember the past seasons typically they are having pretty perfect dinner services with Ramsey stepping away and letting them run the show when they are down to this many.

Entertainment value is great which is what matters, but it is far past believable that the people left with the exception of Will(and that might even be a stretch) could run anything but an Applebees kitchen. I know in the past there have been bad chefs, but were they this bad? Maybe I'm just not remembering it correctly, but Elise and Tommy have the cooking and communication skill level of chefs that were being thrown off in the first weeks of previous seasons.

Well, ultimately, take solace that the winner, especially if it is Elise probably wont take the head chef position at the promised venue. And I SERIOUSLY doubt that she'll be considered as a serious chef at any real restaurant, because the hiring managers will remember her horrible attitude from the show.

I agree. Are they really going to put any of these jokers in charge of a high-class establishment? Are previous winners still chefs in the restaurants they were promised?
