At some point in the next year or so, we'll be trading my wife's Forte Koup for something newer and with 4 doors and more cargo space. She was thinking small SUV, which I'm not thrilled with but can deal with--she doesn't want a (traditional) wagon and neither of us want a minivan.

However recently the new MINI Clubman has really caught my eye. I don't know if it will still be too small (the cargo space is far less than the Sportage/CRV/CX5 class) but it looks good and with well-chosen options the interior is ridiculous. Though the base engine is now a turbo I3, which I don't love the thought of. Gotta move up to the Cooper S to get that fourth cylinder.

mclaren mp12-4c. seems like a LOT of car for the money. for the same money you're looking at an F430, 996 GT2, 997 GT3, or 991 turbo s.

^I know the article states 600hp, but those Porsche 917's made well over 1,000 hp depending on the boost level. Some put out 1,500 hp in qualifying trim.

^^^^If you don't plan on keeping the car past the warranty period. Otherwise run far, far away. And buy a Mazda CX-5 instead.

I am. I love my Outback. Safe, decent clearance, great mpg, great AWD winter road driving.

I am however limited by where I can go without higher clearance and lower gearing. Having a high clearance vehicle with a dedicated 4wd low would be nice.

Right now I just mooch off friends and they drive when I can't make it in my car.

2017 Viper ACR. I drove one and instantly fell in love. I kinda don't even want my GT3 anymore. So much high quality KISS engineering. Hand made, the swan song of SRT along with the Demon and so much history behind it. I think I'm gonna have to get one.

the viper acr is a total beast. it is 4th fastest car around the nurburgring (yeah yeah i know...). and they will take it around again to try to become the 2nd fastest.

it's easier to drive than the gt3 in that it's a more familiar configuration. coming from motorcycles, it's also familiar to me in that the more savage you are with it, the better it takes it. i've also never driven anything with remotely as much grip. it's not a 90s viper, that's for sure

did it have 355s at the rear? afaik they are the 2nd widest tires on a production car ever. the veyron came with 365s at the rear, and its replacement the chiron comes with 355s.

Went to check out a 67 mustang tonight (automatic).

Went for a test drive. Go up the road a bit, pull into neighborhood entry to turn around, shift the car into reverse and the engine dies. Car won't turn over. We're stranded, and he has to call his wife to come pick us up. That's a first.
