I own one. It is the Gun Metallic SV FWD CVT.
1.6L direct injection turbo engine w/ 188 HP.
It is the smallest suv/ crossover one the market according to Nissan and competes in the same market as the mini. It isnt fast, but has a lot of pep.
The back seats are fine for children, but a little tight for adults.
When taking a trip you have to fold the rear seats flat to fit your luggage in it.

The AWD version is heavier, more expensive, gets worse gas mileage, has a 11.8 gallon gas tank, and no under floor storage.
The FWD version is lighter, less expensive, better mpg, a 13.2 gallon fuel tank, and under floor storage in the rear.

I also highly recommend the $800 option for the nag and premium stereo. It is a Rockford fosgate system with 8" sub mounted to the side wall in the trunk. Most of you know how into car stereo I am, and this is quite decent for a factory option.

I have 3500 miles on it, and get 28mpg with mostly highway driving. It has a "interactive" smart menu that let's you see g-forces, fuel stats, and other info. You can also select sport, normal, or Eco modes which changes throttle response and shift points.

I would have preferred the manual, but the wife doesn't want to drive stick, and I still have the gti.

I might post more later.

I test drove one of these back and June and came really close to buying one, but they couldn't find one a color I could tolerate with options that I wanted. I've read some varying opinions on fuel economy. Many people have complained about only getting in the 24mpg range. Most people say it gets better the longer you have the vehicle.

I found it pretty fun to drive. It'd be a nice little daily driver I think, but for trips and things like that you're out of luck on storage space. It just doesn't have it. The slant of the hatch makes fitting anything of size in the trunk next to impossible.

I'm still thinking about them (holding off getting a car now because we're building a house) but it's also competing against some other cars with more power now. I'm looking at the Civic Si, maybe the '12 Focus ST, and maybe a GTI or Jetta GLI.

It's definitely unique in it's styling, and that's one thing I really liked about it. You're either gonna love or hate that about it though.

I got 27mpg highway in a full size 2011 jeep cherokee V6. 290hp!!!!!!!

drove it about 2000 miles before returning it (rental).

A v8 crown Vic also get 27mpg on the highway.

It isn't great, but it isn't terrible either. I drive 62 miles each way for work, and will drive between 35 and 40k miles this year. It is better than the gti's 23 and the wife's jeep's 19 mpg.

With the 40/60 fold down rear seats and under floor storage I haven't had any complaints so far with storage. I know that I will need to pack smartly when I do take it on a trip though.

I really optioned mine up, and they trucked mine in from a different state. I was nearly at the point of adding myself to the three month wait list for ordering one.

The only flaws that I can find are the lack of a bigger engine option, and no arm rest for the front seat(s).

I still can't get over that front end styling. Prior to the Juke, the only people who could make something that ridiculous-looking were the Chinese. I thought Murano was good looking from gen 1, but the cues did not really translate well even to Rogue, but Juke was a real WTF. It's not even cute in a Scion XB type of way, where it is so different it actually looks good. Juke just looks like a design group miscarriage.

Yeah, my Z06 gets AT LEAST that and usually more.

That's the thing...I'd like to have a very efficient daily driver, but even the little econobox stuff, for the most part, doesn't get much better than other stuff that's more desirable to drive...and most of the stuff that does costs more than I'm willing to spend on an economy car (either because it's new and not available 5-years old, or because the resale values are ricockulous, like the Prius and TDI).

The Juke kind of pisses me off. Nissan stops selling stuff like the 240SX and then releases this "vehicle". I actually kind of like the profile from the side and rear but the front turns me off. Nissan loves talking about how sporty this car is, but all I can wonder is how much better would it perform if it was 6 inches lower, wasn't pretending to be an SUV and didn't have a beam rear axle

imho, turbo direct injection is the only way i'll go "eco"
Gas/Diesel dun care.

I guess i could go with straight electric for a commuter if they get more common in fast versions

when you guys say you are "getting x mpg" are you doing the whole divide the trip odometer miles by the # of gallons at a fill up, or are you reading off the car's computer?

^^I divide mileage by the amount of gallons it takes to fill up the tank.

For instance this past weekend I got 12 mpg at the track Sunday (barely had a gallon left at the end of the day), 10 mpg at the track Monday, and then 30 mpg from the drive back to Raleigh

I normally do miles/ gallons. Last tank was 282 miles on 10.3 gallons.
The computer has shown to be pretty accurat thus far.

The car actually handles pretty well for what it is. The VDC controls the car too much, and when turned off the car is set up to over steer. It gets a little loose doing on/off ramps at near twice the posted speed, but nothing uncontrollable.

I agree with the looks. I love the sides and back, and dislike the front. Fortunately, I rarely see the front of it.

like 50 on a 25 ramp?

Yes.
A 25 on ramp I usually take around 45.
35 unusually go around 50

It does depend on if I know the ramp, and other cars of course.
Also, it isn't that I always do it, just that I can.

In the jeep example given that was the trip pc. I cross referenced the first tank I personally filled and got >600 miles on 23 gallons so I believe it to be pretty accurate.

The rear door handles are oriented vertically, and are at the rear of the door at glass height.
They are black and blend in with the back door window section.

Seriously.... i would beat the shit out of one of those things if they were half the dakar truck they look like they should be.

Ohh and it needs a real fucking transmission... not some pansy golfcart shit.

let's asmit, no one will go either crawling or autocrossing in the Juke. In fact, CVT may be the most logical transmission to put in it

^^ i'd rally cross the fuck out of one if it was built for that (with a real transmission, clutch and some more b00st)

I see it as an evo like chassis with 31" tire capabilities.

This is one of those vehicles that I can't rationalize why anyone would buy it. It has no off-road potential and, compared to a small 4/5 door car, it has the same power, same features, less interior space, worse handling and worse mileage.

That said, I like the looks of it.

A six sped manual is an option on FWD, but CVT only on AWD.
I'm sure it won't be long till there are turbo and software upgrades for more power. Companies already make suspension and exhaust kits.

I think the Juke is pretty neat-looking. I would have no reason to buy one (but then again, this is not the type of car that you buy purely for a reason).

I thought the Vehicross was neat-looking too.

this should be interesting... pointless, but interesting.

Super Nissan Juke to receive GT-R powertrain

Quote :
"Nissan Europe has confirmed that a study of a one-off high-powered Juke crossover is underway.

Almost as bizarre as the marriage between Woody Allen and his adopted step-daughter Soon Yi, this unholy communion takes the awkwardly cute Nissan Juke and impregnates it with the awesome powertrain from the Nissan GT-R turning it into an oxymoron - a super compact crossover.

The vehicle, targeted to young excentrics, is internally dubbed "Super Juke". With the twin-turbo 3.8-liter V6 which produces 530 PS (390 kW / 520 hp) transplanted from the Nissan GT-R, the Super Juke should accelerate from 0-to-60 in less than four seconds.

Super sports styling will also be in full effect with enlarged wheel arches, front splitter, two-story rear wing and stripped-out interior for reduced weight.

This obscure collision of mechanical DNA could just be exactly what the industry needs right now. Not only does it have the potential to amaze and convert new Nissan fans but it could jump start the newest trend in concept tuning amongst auto makers."
