I'm not the biggest Wayne fan...he's got a few good songs (Tha Block is Hot, Dr Carter, Shoot Me Down, Tie My Hands to name a few) but he's just not really my style in general. However, that "John" song with Rick Ross was surprisingly good. I'm not really a fan of Ross either, but I liked that track. If Carter 4 is more of that and less of the "How To Love" stuff, then I might give it a listen...but I've never been a huge Wayne fan, so we'll see.

To be honest, I'm 5 songs in (already had heard 6 Foot 7 Foot, obviously) and am pleasantly surprised. As I said earlier, I'm not a Wayne fan...so I didn't really have any expectations for this album. But it's not bad. It's not going to get my vote for album of the year (based on the first 5 songs), but it's ok.

much worse than carter 3. its down his same path of autotune crap and just sounding like an idiot ever since he got up with tpain. there are maybe 3 songs on the album that are at or above single quality. c3 wasn't all that but this is just an ok album.

if you have ever been a wayne fan you will not like this album. as a casual rap fan its prolly pretty decent though but nowhere near as good as big sean which is sad.

Never understood the fascination with this guy.

I think his rap skills are worse than mine, which is pretty bad. Have a friend who thinks he's the greatest thing ever. He's tried to get me into him... I just think he's a talentless hack

I also blame No Limit Records and Cash Money Records for destroying rap music....so I kinda hold a grudge

Rappers names have become as over the top and ridiculous as hair band singers' names were in the late 80s. And for the record, I couldn't listen to Taime Downe or Chip Z'nuff either.

the problem is he puts out too much too quickly so the quality is watered down. If he would stop making songs everyday and sit down to take the time to make a well-thought out album,, it would be untouchable. Instead, he makes a collection of wordplay like someone else here suggested.
