http://www.instructables.com/id/Revive-Nicad-Batteries-by-Zapping-with-a-Welder/
Anyone ever done this?
I've had two Ryobi drill batteries for a couple years that I've used just a handful of times, and neither of them hold a charge.
This idea seems promising, but I'm a little concerned with the possibility of blowing something up 8/25/2011 12:37:59 PM |

I don't get what the point is. NiCad batteries sucked when they were brand new. 8/25/2011 12:51:20 PM |

The point is I can't afford a new drill right now, so if I can get mine working again at all, I'd like to. 8/25/2011 12:52:46 PM |

I actually have fairly extensive knowledge in reviving/maximizing the power of nicad batteries.
Every technique, however, involves you getting to each individual cell in the battery pack, so you'd have to take apart your battery pack. Easier said than done a lot of times. 8/25/2011 6:18:55 PM |

honestly man, just go to cheapbatterypacks.com (or batteries plus) and have them make you a pack or get you some cells. Its not worth risking having one of those things pop or vent near you trying to zap them. 8/30/2011 12:27:57 AM |
