GNX is a bit redneck but who wants to be just another douche with an M3?

^!

i'd drive a gnx before an e46m anyday

now an e30m vs a gnx would be a tough choice for me.

the first first forced induction 6'er, gnx for life. red neck or not. it is less red neck than a mustang or camarro of its time.

Performance numbers don't matter. You have to have a V8 in a muscle car or else you're a giant pussy.

A Buick Regal with a ladder bar and a turbo is not a sports car.

OP pic is just a regular grand national, not a GNX.

either way its 100x cooler than any M3.

maybe because 996s and bmw 3-series' are discussed way too much here.

by the same token i kinda hate the beatles, bob dylan, and doc watson because my faggot roommates listened to it exclusively.

if you want a turbo buick there is a place on hwy 21 near elkin nc that deals in them exclusively (and some classic mopars).

google map these coordinates. hell, you can see several of them sitting outside. just my two cents!

You are grossly oversimplifying my argument.

For one thing, a fucking Regal exists for a different purpose than a Mustang. More importantly, the turbo six was the top dog...there was no hotter V8 that could have been optioned.

winner.

i'd still take a gn over ANY fucking M3 anyday. it's just the love i have for those cars. but a gnX vs. M3 there is no comparison. no M3 will ever hold it's value like a GNX

^^are you sure you're comparing the e30 to a grand national with the GNX package? if so, i find it amazing people would spend 6-figures on a e30.

are you sure it was a real GNX? i can't believe someone would take away from the value of a GNX by modding it. there was only 547 grand nationals with the GNX package.

The M3 (especially if you are talking about e46 or later) is a better car in just about every measurable category.

This matters to me not at all. I'd take the GNX any day, over any BMW. It's one of my favorite cars period.

if it was '71 440 challenger or charger vs E46 M3, choice would be easy. M3 all the way minus the smurf color.

a picture like this might help in comparison

When I think E46 M3 I think of the Wall Street douche my cousin (female, lived in NY) dated a couple years ago. I'm at the dinner table with me family and the conversation goes like this:

[somebody's talking about cars]
Him: I've got an M3
Me: Oh, E46?
Him: [in a stuck-up voice] It's a BMW

unfortunately 90% of BMW owners are douche bags. the other 10% are some of the finest car enthusiasts you will ever meet. being part of the 10% I'd go with the M3...sorry fellas but I'm a bit biased.

^^^to each his own

^^should we go into what majority of population thinks about GNX owners that live in, say, ...Murfreesboro, TN? M3 is probably the most ubiquitous car on American race tracks and while you may generalize owners are arrogant jerks, I doubt you can generalize they don't know what they are talking about when it comes to cars. Your example really doesn't fit the majority of even a stereotype.

You're probably comparing the value of an E30 M3 to that of a regular GN, which is actually a more relevant comparison. Because GNXs were highly limited production (around 500 total I believe) and are extremely scare and valuable collector's items today.

As far as coolness goes, I'd have to rate the GNX as the 'cooler' car because of it's uniqueness and rarity, but I know which one I'd rather actually drive.

Shhh don't burst their bubble.. some euro boys don't pull their head's out of their ass long enough to realize other countries make good/interesting cars.

Same reason they refuse to own a mustang because its a ford... but will pay twice as much for a m3 that is .2 seconds faster per lap around laguna seca.

The debate isn't over coolness (the OP screwed up his post)...the debate is over which car "looks better."

GNX vs E46 M3, in the looks department only. Not which one you'd like to own, drive, bang in, etc. Not rednecks vs eurofags. Just which car looks best...has the best styling. Which wins for you?

I'm pretty sure I was engaged in discussion with the OP when he posted this thread, and this thread was a result of said discussion. So I know what he meant...he's notorious for trying to communicate with the least keystrokes possible, and confusion often results. The discussion/debate was over looks/styling of the GNX vs the E46 M3.

Also it's pretty stupid/pointless to try compare the "coolness" of the GNX vs the M3, for a multitude of reasons. This being the most obvious:
